Lawsuits, no matter the country, reveal more than either party wants to reveal. I am no more familiar with laws than the next guy but that is the nature of the beast. Dax better be ready for some uncomfortable revelations if he sues. His girlfriend is a school teacher and his friends are nonces. A lawsuit will hurt himself and his people as much as it will hurt the opposing party if not more. He propably knows that and will only sue if he is pushed into a corner and decides to take down others with him. He only threatens the lawsuit for now.
When it comes to the courts, we have a saying; "The process is the punishment." Meaning your time away from work, away from your family, your loss of finances to defend yourself, and more does more damage to you than any verdict could. Even if an accusation is levied and taken to court, if you're found not-guilty, there's very little if any path to restore your reputation, finances, or any other part of your life that took a hit. Consider Russel Greer or Melinda the Mountain Jew; they can do everything they can to drag Null to court, tie up his time and cost him money to get legal representation; and even as he's found to not be at fault, they have next to nothing he could get to recoup losses. For the most part, the truth is an absolute defense, and hard facts are important to determine a case; but even if you're found not guilty, you're never getting your good name back. I forget what college it was, but was one of the numerous stories about some girl getting gang-raped by like a pack of sports-ballers. Turns out it was all bullshit, but thanks to the media, they were kicked out of college, lost everything, and were branded as rapists.
