I've given up on watching anything on youtube a while ago. I'll follow the occasional link on here and that is pretty much it. I'm not interested in youtubers and their opinions. Most of them come across as raging narc assholes and the content, no matter how niche, is still often for the lowest common denominator so there's literally nothing of interest in any video I can't just get elsewhere in a better presented form. So honestly, I do not care about their "content". I can only advise anyone to completely disconnect from all this garbage. Social media too. Make a clean cut. It's the best, and long term probably the only, way and also what will hurt these megacorps the most. Just drop out.

@i440BX (Won't let me reply to you for some reason), Almost all videos i saved at the highest quality available, a lot of 1080p and 60fps. Re-uploads of stuff I had to sift through are potentially lower quality.

Whatever you want to keep forever on YouTube should be downloaded as soon as possible.

For the lazy or the mobile-only crowd, Telegram still has a lot of Youtube downloader bots. Let me make a few suggestions:

NOTE: In order to NOT lose these, you should then download the files yourself OR at a minimum, forward the file to a channel you control. Of the not owner decides to clear your messages or changes ownership (which happens often) you could lose it.

Set your media settings for "Data and Storage" to the minimum and set it to cached files for only 1 day. This way you don't eat up your internal storage.

Its not about the money. Its about control. They hate the idea there are people using their product the "wrong" way.

Kiwi Farms: tens of thousands of dollars in assets at best, horrible public reputation due to constant smear campaigns by/through mainstream media, one of the largest pariahs in the tech world, funded only via the wallets of its userbase and a tiny handful of private interests with no ads in sight, achieves consistent growth year-over-year despite all of this.

Conclusion: from every objective measurement, Kiwi Farms is the more successful website and service.

This was why many prefers to support open-source and fully ad-free apps and things so that they would not fall into the Pajeet ponzi poison. Need to archive the shit out of my favorite shit. No ads are better than ads that demands you to answer which product have you used, shilling, and you guessed it, unskippable ads.
