Finished my Faith playthrough. Pretty standard build of 60 vig/30 MND/30/END/80 faith with enough STR/DEX to use blasphemous blade. I put all extra points in MND/END at about a 2:1 ratio.

Wasn't all that hard, I leaned on black flame heavily. I forgot to stack holy resist against Elden Beast but whatever, I won so who gives a shit.

I could see it making sense in the lore why they'd choose that for a final boss, and it doesn't really bother me at all on a personal level, not sure why people would be so fucking butthurt about it when Messmer is clearly the Uber Boss plastered all over the marketing as your true final challenge in the DLC.

I keep looking around the internet but I'm not sure what would be the ideal way to start the DLC. What's everybody else doing? I have an old NG+2(?) character right before Journey 3 and I have a new gamepad just in case. I should have the whole weekend free with drinks and hot chips and everything for the ideal experience of getting my ass lit on fire.

I'm about level 290(?) because I like seeing the numbers go up. Currently an Occult main with 99 Arc and have been levelling up my Mind for more FP so I can do Dragon Talisman support faith casting more reliably. For actual weapons I've been running a pussy's naginata-and-shield build but I also do occult zwei and powerstanced nightrider flail.

I remember trying to do NG+1 Old Hunters for my first go of it, and having a bad time of it at Lvl 130 or so.
Do you guys think I should make a new character on NG0 or just go with my lvl 290 on NG+2 or +3? Do you think any particular item is gonna be important that I should go and make sure I got it? The only bougie talisman I can think of that I don't have is Alexander's.

I'd be doing my first playthrough file if I were doing PS4, but having gone to PC for the DLC I'm half assedly remaking it by having an int/fth character in mausoleum soldier gear and the Radiant Goldmask/Nox Mirrorhelm because I don't want to kill any major bosses or too many NPCs (it felt kinda shit to do Patches' quest b/c I forgot not leveling to 16 dex and I'm hesitant about Bernhal's just for an AoE I might not even use). As such Radahn's dead and I'm gonna use his great rune for fp/stamina while grabbing mimic because I'm gonna be a bit undergeared outside of SoNaF, which I'd rather minimize crutching on outside of mobbing for the boosts which I'm probably not ready for.

REAL question is what're you wearing into the DLC? The clothes make the man, Tarnished, and you don't want to be seen impaled without your Erdtree Burial's finest.

Thank you for the information, personally I have always played on PC and will of course continue. Anyway, I'm a very simple man and I lust for thick coats of plate, if I wear anything besides Banished Knight I feel improperly dressed. With the hood and overcoat, of course.

My only complaint on that piece of armor is the eye in the chest, if it were not for that it would be better. As far as armor, I am going with a combination of the Raptor set and the Hoslow set for the INT/ARC character. For the FAI/ARC character I am going with Kaiden set with some stuff from the blood noble set.

Mohg killed at level 70, every major boss still alive. Summoned a mimic with only Fundamentalist Seal +10 and the status dragon breaths while I hotswapped Black Knife for a free 10% and then swapping that and Mask of Confidence for SoNaF +6 and Aristocrat Headband (Necessary to mid roll with my 10 endurance). Took three tries to get it down because I am not used to swapping gear mid fight and the mimic started fucking around, but with the exception of Omen Bairn to see if it still sucks, a few other spells, and some of my ps4 build's schizo armor I'm pretty much ready. (Edit: forgot the screencaps)

Some of the weapons/attacks look a bit too anime.
The DLC is gonna be good. not great, not mid, just good.
"Aspect of the crucible: wings" looks like it's attack patterns are gonna be depending on the weapon you're currently holding or maybe it'll be an ash of war which can be applied to multiple weapons. Also Radahn will be in a gay relationship with Miquella
