I've been working my way through this thread, and manifested an encounter with one of these cursed Bully abominations. A melanin-enhanced couple was pushing this scrunkly monstrosity in a cart (there was also a gallon-sized bottle of Sweet Baby Rays in the cart, which I include as a point of interest because it boggled my brains as being as affront to God as the snortbeast enshrined within), and I approached eagerly, alas, they were cagey despite my best White Woman impression, of which I paraphrase:

"Ohh my GAWD, ain't that just the cutest wittle THANG? I thought it was a stuffed animal at first, what a PRECIOUS BABY. What kind of dog is that??" "She Bully breed" mumbled the classy madam, well on her way to being SMASHED and SLAMMED herself with the numerous piercings adorning her impressive underbite and wide, flat nose.
Oh well, they do say dogs resemble their owners. The mauveish spotted creature looked like a sad toad gnome with one limb before it, one limb behind it, bottom portion W-sitting on a baby blanket in a way that was stiff and doll-like enough to be uncanny even before I got a close look at it.

I already had my phone readied in hand, thinking to ask for a picture of the PRECIOUS ANGEL, but words escaped me when the piteous thing looked up, I pray seeking the sound of my voice, head bobbling about on the single cervical vertebrae its Maker had blessed it with, and I realized its eyes were snow-blue fields, pinpricks of pupils in the white void. "She's so unique!" I chirped, hoping my terror was clenched firmly behind my frozen smile, as the orchestrator of this creatures agony continued on, "Yep, she double-merle, we breed for em." and gave the name of her Facebook page, which included the word "Pink" and likely a handful of XXXs and ZZZZs that rendered the enterprise unfindable to me, before wheeling their babbygnometoad and jug o' BBQ sauce away.

I thanked my stars that at least the poor thing would only live for a couple of years. But how many SMASHINGS and SLAMMINGS must it endure before the sweet embrace of death? :(

So it was discovered recently in Tard Baby that some insane fundies are intentionally adopting embryos flagged for serious anomalies to intentionally create short-lived tard babies for attention and grifting. Basically the human version of SMASHED and SLAMMED animals.

Unfortunately they don't name and describe their dying spuds like how exotic bully people do their similarly fucked up dogs.

Bit of a PL but it's hard not to in this thread.

My dad's cane corso died, she was a big sweet fawn colored one and it was a really tough thing for the family because she had to be put down so suddenly when bone cancer was discovered in her legs. My dad was taking it especially badly so after about a month of him walking around dazed and confused because he loved that dog so much, we decided to surprise him with a new dog. He had always liked german shepherds but he could never get around to getting one cause some financial problem always cropped up. So we looked online and found a sweet looking german shepherd mix (first red flag, but she looked nice in the pictures and I detected 0% shitbull) and signed up for something called 'foster to adopt', where you agree to foster the dog for like a week or two before you make a decision to adopt them.

This dog was sweet but she was uncontrollable, and we have a toddler at the family home a lot so a controllable dog was necessary. It would chase the cats relentlessly too, not trying to kill them from what we could tell, but the dog absolutely LOVED the chase. We decided to give her back because we just wouldn't be able to handle her and it's only now when I started reading some posts that mentioned 'dogs' being bred with coyotes and I'm starting to legitimately think she was bred with one. She had similar fur patterns and her snout was just plain too long for what you would expect on a german shepherd. I can't prove this obviously, but the shelter simply said 'lol we have no idea what she's mixed with' so I'm a little sketchy.

The story does have a somewhat happy ending though as we did decide to buy a dog from a breeder we found in our state. A nice purebred basset hound puppy that would grow nice and lazy as my dad moved into his golden years. We love the little guy and the breeders were very good people that obviously cared a lot for him. I do agree that it's sad how many dogs don't get adopted nowadays, but shelters feel like such traps that will lie to you at every step, like when they told us the german-shepherd (coyote?) we were adopting was 'great with kids'. Be careful out there fellas.

Still miss the old girl though, she looked just like this. Her tail was also cropped because of a blood clot that was found in it when she was young.

I made a account just to post these, 4 of them were from the same instagram page. one is from a tiktok video, but the dog in that one looks very similar to the other ones i saw, so i suspect that came from the same dog breeder.

The tiktok one has the same name as the last one from insta that you posted, likely same dog and both accounts belong to the owner. Bet those things die before they're 3, it's so brachycephalic its face is almost inverted (:_(

Because these cats already exist regardless of if you pay or not, you are not preventing them from existing and this sort of attitude is dumb as fuck.
If a person wants a specific breed of cat then that is what they want, they don't want a cat from a shelter, this choice does not mean another cat has to die in place of a breeded cat, they did not want the shelter cat to begin with. You don't have to kill a shelter cat to adopt a Bengal or Ragdoll.

Also for the record at least in Australia, cat fancies and breeder shows donate money and food towards cat shelters/orgs.

The problem is not people who want a breed or even the breed themselves, its back yard breeders who do not do it ethically and ones who breed obviously flawed breeds.

In many US cities shelters are overwhelmed with cats during kitten season. The season is extended in cities like LA where the proper weather for it persists much longer. Someone on my Nextdoor was caring for a pregnant stray and attempted to take her to a shelter. They told her that she'd be euthanised there so she ended up taking her home. Pregnant cats, neonatal and young kittens get euthanised all the time. Maybe the situation is different in the US. Pre-pandemic my city (Philadelphia) had about 400,000 feral cats. It's gotten better due to trap/neuter/release programs. But it's estimated that 60-100 million feral cats roam the US.

I'm sure breeders here donate to shelters too. But the problem still persists. And purebred cats can end up in shelters too. It's not an easily solvable problem. But every time you buy a purebred cat from a breeder that's one less shelter cat that you could have saved instead. It's just worth thinking about if you want a cat. Maybe if you are going to get a purebred kitten adopt a shelter kitten too as a playmate.

Wasn’t sure whether to post this here or in the pitbull thread, but i had the misfortune of stumbling upon this thing on my fyp. This is one of the ugliest dogs i think i’ve ever seen - if you can even call it a dog. Its face looks so…wrong, like some uncanny valley type shit

That little girls’ face says it all

I want to say that's a really big Cane Corso. But the face is wrong. Cane Corsos come up for "rehoming" all the time on my local Nextdoor.

I know I've seen the type of dog in the photo before. Maybe it's a nice, well behaved dog. But still... The history of such a breed can't be good. That musculature isn't for herding sheep or retrieving dead ducks from ponds.

Never forget when one of the flagship toads of the Toadline, Staypuft Man, was STOLEN in a daring heist in the deserts of the Inland Empire.

If we didn't have proof of the dogs existing I'd think this was some kind of ghetto ARG.
