Autists are very vulnerable due to their need to fixate on weird shit. The more talented they are the more fucked up they're destined to be.
I think that's pretty well understood but that doesn't answer the question. Degenerate autists are probably overrepresented in fields like comp sci since they have zero self awareness, so it appears like they're far more common than normal people in a specific field, but there's still a question of how much of a field like that is represented by them.

Put another way, if you pulled 100 programmers at random and put them in a room, would the room have a few annoying trannies or would you want to lock the door shut and let the building burn down?

Why are almost all programmers online like this? Do they all need to be some mentally ill person who happens to code, or are there normal people who are programmers?
A lot of programmers, especially good ones, tend to be autists, who for a large amount of (speculated) reasons, are at high risk for troonism. The stereotype of programmers is that you either get a loony troon who can write giga-optimized low level code, or a pajeet copy-pasting borderline unusable code..

Depends where in all honesty. Some ultra professional dev agency with fed ties is probably gonna have more classic businessman types, while anything open source is gonna be almost entirely troons, if not then some form of genderspecial.

Terminally online people are always the worst and most visible representation of anything. They're not necessarily common or prominent in real life.

Autists make the worst programmers because communication is essential to the job. They're probably better at hardware or mechanical technical jobs, but programming is going to be difficult for them outside shitty hobby projects.

Can confirm, am in a programming-adjacent job. No one will use your hyper-optimized, borderline magical code if no one else on the team understands what you're doing. That goes double if you're trying to optimize some workflow or toolchain that everyone depends on.

A great analogy would be considering a soldier: you can be the biggest badass around, strength of 1000 men and aim of a sniper, but refuse to cooperate with anyone and you'll be fucked in a real firefight. Individual talent means nothing when it's a team effort, no one is a one man army.
