This place was totally different in 2014. There was literally a thread of idiots facedoxing themselves. Opsec wasn't even a known thing to most people. @Meowthkip got here literally a couple weeks before I did. I'm naturally somewhat of a paranoid faggot but apparently she wasn't, and neither were a lot of the oldfags you don't see any more because after a couple breaches, they realized this isn't a safe place to be.

Mocking one solitary autist and some tumblrinas was not really seen as dangerous then. It still shouldn't be, at least to most people, but as the current year Public Enemy Number One of the Internet, it kind of is. The dangers are more obvious even to people who aren't paranoid psychos.

It's the usual subset of attention-seekers and pick-mes. They never dissapeared, they just moved to social media instead of being on forums like this one, as well as the fact that due to the internet being smaller, the amount of people that could care about what you did here was also smaller.

A lot of people that were here from the beggining most likely also were on Something Awful at some point, and when the owner of SA takes opsec so unseriously that he went after goonettes IRL to try and fuck them, that rubs off on the userbase, particulary so among the younger ones. That's also one of the reasons as to why I think that @Itsnatsutalbott uses the same username everywhere, he was born in the early 90s and used the internet during the mid-2000s, if you weren't doing shady things or using somewhat obscure sites, you didn't knew what opsec was, and you couldn't care less, because at most they would spam your number and send pizzas to your house
