Elden Ring

I'm playing through with a Blue Dancer Charm & Arcane build, level 150 with 44 VIG. I know where my next 10-15 levels are going. Or I need to go respec. Losing 80% of my HP to every hit when I am learning these ultra-delayed attack timings sucks.

The one that's just chilling in the overworld? It didn't cause me much trouble, a few strong attacks and you can crit it. But it's moveset did feel like it needed more time in the oven.
No, there's one in the Shadow Keep where you fight the camera more than the boss. Not a great time.

Rellana's twin blades are really cool, but they hardly do any poise damage. Hard to justify using them over Ordovis's sword or the Godslayer Greatsword.

I really like the new weapons, but Rivers of Blood still seems like the best dex or arc weapon. Even if the others look cooler, bleed is even better in the dlc compared to base game, at least when the enemies aren't immune.

Boss hp bars are even greater than endgame bosses (Rellana, who is seemingly the intended first boss, has 29k health, over 3k more than Placidusax and only 4k less than Malenia if you don't count her hp loss in second phase), so even one bleed proc is multiple thousands of health. RoB can usually proc 4 or 5 times in a boss fight thanks to Corpse Piler and/or Mimic, which is just ridiculous when added onto its already great damage.

Damn, and I love Dryleaf Arts, but it just isn't as good as bleed spam with stuff like RoB or Mohg's Spear. Maybe I'm missing something, but the Shattered Stone Talisman doesn't increase it by enough to overtake bleed.

So what scadutree blessing level are the people getting their shit pushed in at? Seen people with it at lvl 10 with easily double the damage compared to base game

Okay got through to the definite final area and probably will beat it by tomorrow. Couldn't played more than 8 hours so whoever said this will be a "40 hour DLC" is fucking lying.
I’m maybe two hours in and already beat the first two main bosses, the dancing lion and rellana. I know I’ve played the souls games for a long time and know how to run through these quickly but still, this can’t be more than 10 hours. Which that would be fine if it was completely quality, although I can’t verify that yet as I haven’t finished the dlc. Honestly, I don’t know who would think it would be a 40 hour dlc, but you would think it would be around 20 hours. That’s what I expected at least.

Mixing threads but still on topic...

Whoever stole Bossmans Elden Ring steam code is a laugh stealing bitch.

Watching BMJ play Elden Ring and shit talking the rats after each death would have been fucking hysterical. Damn you for depriving me of that cawntent.
I don't even like BMJ and I think that's criminal.

Found a new twinblade, which is "What if Gargoyle's Black Blades were actually good?" It has some Faith and Holy damage, but you can infuse it with whatever. It's also got the Godskin Peeler moveset, so if you wanted to use that but did not like how the weapon looks, you've got an alternative. Really liking them so far.

Been playing Shadow of the Erdtree for about a day now and I have to say it's fucking great. Rellana was a bit overtuned imo but otherwise I've been having a blast. Currently getting my shit pushed in by the Golden Hippopotamus but I should have him down very soon.

did anyone else manage to kill the giant fire basket at the beginning without any sacred tree blessings?

Are you just not exploring at all?

How long did the base game take you

Finished the entire thing. It's ... fun? Ish? I liked all the dungeons and challenges they had, but not the major bosses. Too many of the "What the fuck I'm supposed to do with this piece of shit?" type of bosses and there is rarely ever a breathing room. Even at level 16 blessings the last boss is a massive pain in the ass. So the reward for collecting all of these blessings and committing to exploration is that you might survive one more hit from the last boss.

A lot of the bosses are visually interesting, but I think that just gets in the way too much. Every boss is some sort of a spectacle and From now focuses on making it all visually interesting than interesting to engage with. You watch a boss gracefully dance in the air while hitting you with delayed attacks and all you do then is spam rolling unless you are using a shield. Then at best you can land at single attack because someone from From wanted to brag about their creativity. I'm starting to get a feeling that From is more interested in showing off to amaze Redditors than make a fun and fair game.

Also checking comments of negative reviews on Steam is funny as always.

It just feels like a fan made mod. Maybe I’ll buy it in a year or two when it’s on sale.
I agree with this sentiment completely, though in my case I really enjoy what modpacks have to offer for the game overall. The content isn't for everybody, but it's definitely a lot of content.

I wonder what the convergence team will do with it.

Curse you, Bayle! I hereby vow! You will rue this day! Behold, a true drake warrior! And I, Igon! Your fears made flesh! Solid of scale you might be, foul dragon... But I will riddle with holes your rotten hide! With a hail of harpoons! With every last drop of my being!

What's with this non hostile pest up near the church of the crusade?
