At 0:38 in that clip, I hear a sniff followed by the sliding of a plate across a table, like people sharing drugs. I also hear another long sniff (maybe an inhale but sounds sniffy to me) at around 0:55. These morons haven't changed ANY behavior.

Edit: fixed the times from 0:28 and 0:45 to 0:38 and 0:55.

You did coke off a plate? How posh are you?

Didn't even wish him a million bucks, I'd make sure to lock my doors at night if I were Larry
Nick would probably crash his car or get pulled over for the 4829479383th time on his way to start shit with Larry, so I think he'll be okay to maybe leave a window open. Summer heat and all that.

I think you're conflating group homes with foster homes.

I'm not sure how they do foster homes in Minnesota, but in Ontario, Canada to be a foster parent you have to pass some pretty rigid standards. Have your own home, certain equity, tons of communication with the agency, etc.

In my previous career of a child and youth care worker (now fire fighter) I've worked for both group homes and foster homes. Group homes can be an absolute shit hole with children who have been absolutely fucked over in life. In contrast with foster parents I've worked with I never had an issue as they were all committed to being, well, foster parents.
Yeah, I'm describing group homes which are basically the same as juvenile halfway houses. I'm assuming that a large chunk of kids in the "foster system" do not directly get placed with actual "foster parents", but get dumped wherever is easiest which is often a group home. A region might have short-term group homes specifically for children waiting for more long-term placement. The system is very dehumanizing and treats children like widgets to be dumped in a storage bin until some rusty cog decides to turn.

What you mean rather than "addiction" are substances which have a difficult physical withdrawal process associated with them. All "addiction" is entirely mental.
No, the withdrawal process is a result of physical addiction. It refers directly to withdrawal, which is how people can die if they quit alcohol or opioids too quickly. Addiction is a dependency. The word has been watered down which is why you’re confused, in modern times some scientists use dependency exclusively (which is the definition of addiction) because of people watering down the term, which is how you’re using the word.

They don’t refer to alcohol as a “substance with a difficult physical withdrawal process”— which is not a useful definition or differentiator and just vague. They just say it’s addiction or the body (central nervous system for alcohol) becomes dependent on it. What you’re saying is your personal opinion, I was using the definitions of words to distinguish the physical properties of drugs. The central nervous system being reliant, dependent, addicted, is not a ”mental” struggle other than the fact these processes are controlled by the brain.

Don’t confuse your confusion with mine.

All of which is to say, I wonder if Nick’s cockaine use overtook is alcohol consumption and made it easier to “quit“ drinking. He probably still drinks off-stream or mixes it in with the energy drinks he has on-stream, but it’s a possibility that he’s temporarily stopped because he has a criminal trial coming up.

I think the last long sniff is just a mic fizzling out. He had spotty audio the entire stream, probably knocked the audiojack loose.
And you can clearly tell by the voice, cadence and word choice that April is the corner demon.

I think you mean alcohol and benzos. Opiates are just miserable to "cold turkey."

I haven't even watched the stream and knew Nick would give the prosecution all the evidence needed to show how awful of a human being Nick Rekieta is. He didn't start cleaning up; he just returned to usual, like he didn't have local police and judge over his head. If he gets shot during the arrest warrant tomorrow for "defending his rights," I would just find it poetic justice. Live like a lolbertarian, die like a lolbertarian. The end is nigh for the Balldoverse folks. The only thing left is for Archangel Michael to give a swift last blow to Rekieta's sinful life.
If a lolcow an heroes by cop for being a lolcow, can they still win Lolcow of the year?

Is there a new award for this? Lolcow of the Decade perhaps?

I haven't seen this mentioned but it just stuck me. Balldo ruined the childhood of 5 children.
FIVE
Normal people's childhood memories are mundane and average, theirs are multiple cars with flashing blue and red lights, officer Joshua Moonson and Timothy Felt, their papa ranting about the gooberment, Kiwi Farms, Kino Casino, Elisaclips, Kalea and more.

I still remember a pig car stopping by neighbours because of a domestic when I was 6. Now imagine being Balldo's children, seeing multiples of them. Imagine reading about your father on the news as some drug addled degenerate with a 10,000 pages thread on a drama website who got your sister hooked on cocaine.

I think about their eldest child- the 16 year old. I remember being 16, and having a phone with internet access. He probably, to some degree, has checked on the online discourse around his family since the arrests. I can only imagine how much it would fuck with me to see this trashfire if it was my family instead.

Christian, if you ever see this: I'm sorry. You and your siblings deserved better.

I don't hear a sniff at 38 seconds in the video Just sounds like he's moving stuff on the table looking for a document (Which is what he's talking about to April) Nothing that can reasonably be called a sniff, IMO. Maybe I'm retarded because I'm not a druggie but isn't there supposed to be like a second of reeling when snorting coke? He doesn't hesitate and voice/tempo doesn't even change

and the sound later in the video (55 seconds I believe) is just audio dropping out. You can tell because a sniff has a human body and lungs attached to it (Girth) whereas this sounds hollow like only the high frequencies of the room are being let through and the low frequencies cut out for a second.

Run it through a parametric EQ to check.

I used opiates to refer to heroine because that’s what was being compared to cocaine in terms of addictive v not addictive in the case review I read. Withdrawal from opioids can kill people. It is understudied and not common, though documented, so you’re fair to point that out.
Nick is actually the biggest retard in the universe. After all that huffing and puffing on his stream he's now fighting with randos on twitter about his actual ongoing criminal case concerning the fate of his children. His kids are like one step away from going to the white trash version of the foster home portrayed in The Wire. It's fucked up getting institutionalized as a kid, even temporarily, even for a few weeks. These places are not good, even the nice one's are basically half-way houses. Half the kids have serious behavioral issues including random violence. In an urban setting you'll have 11 year olds with loose gang associations. 14 year old girls getting pregnant with plenty of self-harm and suicidal behavior. Every other day someone will just be hysterically screaming or smashing shit throughout the night.
In the thread for the document leak showing his kid was ingesting cocaine, someone said they could still be with the grandparents as the state MN does work with kin to get temporary foster licenses, which they would need. So it’s very possible that is where they are, as the family would be the fosterers, and hopefully that’s true for their sake, but the grandparents seem like immense enabalers so I’m unsure how great that‘d be.
