JK Rowling has met with some success in children's literature. Granted, Hermione is a Mary Sue, and Harry is a passive dolt who contributes nothing to the story, and virtually all the conflict originates with Harry or one of the other children doing something stupid.

I read a werewolf book by Anne Rice of all people and it was pretty cool. Doubly so because it used becoming a werewolf as a metaphor for becoming your own man, and a story like that seems like it'd be pretty hard to do for a woman. But she did it well.

It's simply a (terminal) form of degeneracy and progressive rot, so advanced that it now corrupts medical science and is literally attempting to challenge biological reality itself.

Just from what little my sisters have shown me from the show, Owlhouse feels like Adventure Time but meant to appeal to women (before Adventure Time itself turned gay and tried to appeal to the Tumblr crowd).
