You can under socialist healthcare and/or if your next of kin requests it while you're incapacitated (or mentally unfit) and old. Doctors and nurses don't want to spend their time traumatizing an old geezer with CPR and defibs just for them to be permanently bruised, injured, in pain with broken rib bones, and to then die having lived a full life 2 months into the future. Once you get to a certain age with certain characteristics, your legal rights become that of a child or adult without legal agency/of a legal guardian. Defer to all the media references of "pulling the plug." Except more often than not it goes more like casually dropping a "lets not go through this anymore" to their primary care giver as their next in kin, they place the DNR, the geezer suffers a heart attack, a different nurses sees the DNR, nobody does anything, a heartattack is noted on the death certificate, and thats it, rather than "oh noes my son is a vegetable. lets not plug the plug... or should we?!?!!?" after a long drawn out drama of grief. You understood it perfectly. Usually you care for the elderly in the family, not make or push for every decision that could end in an earlier death. It's one thing if they are truly at deaths door; not if they are an inconvenience to you/the nurses/the doctors after giving the crotch goblins a reason to despise you. If living isn't agony, most elderly would still like to see their grand-kids one last time, and not have it cut off just because everybody despises your existence. Let's say the mother has a heart attack or a stroke, it is very reasonable for a next of kin to be notified and ask for a DNR, meanwhile another nurse has just brought the patient back to life with a mere shock and an adrenaline injection. They're now in a situation where the chances of future survival have gone down because the family doesn't give a shit, not that there is any valid medical reason to live a shorter life than the mothers' peers.

9/10 if you get a message from someone and you're active in mostly trans subreddits, it's just gonna be a horny cis dude looking to sext or send nudes. I see younger trans people think maybe they just wanna be friends, and that's just not true. Imo these kinds of dudes especially go after younger users cus they think they're easy to manipulate. I've been on trans Reddit since I was 16 so I'm familiar with the experience.

I know I'm not anyone's parent, I just think some folks don't actually know you can turn off Reddit DMs. You go to your user settings, and go to chat and messaging and turn them off.
