I have a 21yo friend who goes weeks without talking to me sometimes but she updated me with

And she likened it to Gray's Anatomy, "but with better writing" which gives me the impression that the show is definitely appealing to the "right" audience, that being 15-23yo girls who have low standards and aren't capable of thinking critically about things.

...Well, and retarded adult men who think that psychoanalyzing a puddle of sewage that looks pretty because the oil slick on top is a rainbow somehow makes them knowledgeable on whatever's going on or that their opinions matter.

HB/HH is so unironically annoying now that I don't even like sitting through most videos talking about it because those people are *also* annoying. I keep getting recommended some furry chick called ArteiceTB or some shit and the first thing my ears are assaulted with is a tranny voice crack.

The whole thing is irradiated, but at least I can commiserate with you lot

It's funny to think about because these people love reminding you that it's a show for GROWN UPS, for ADULTS despite a good chunk of the show's audience are teenagers. I'd say Smiling Friends has a higher adult audience than both of Vivziepop's shows combined. I remember when I touched VRChat several months back for a friend who wanted to mess around in it and we both decided to join a Hazbin Hotel world for the heck of it.

Unsurprisingly, a sizeable portion of the people there were teenagers, with two of them wearing suggestive Angel Dust avatars. We tried another server, same thing. Out of the fifteen servers we tried, only two of them had majority adults - and we only knew that because we had to tell our age in those servers since they were strictly 18+ ones. Group Public servers if you're wondering.

I almost wanted to slap my friend for making me join VRChat that day with him for wasting my time. But I forgave him.

So much for an "adults only" show.

That's one of the more baffling things to me. I don't understand why they're so insistent on it being a super mature and adult show for grown ups. That was the sort of mindset I feel like we had to take like, 20 years ago with animated stuff because it was more commonly classified as a "cartoon" and was implied to be aimed at a younger audience. There were a few exceptions to the rule, but otherwise, knowing the difference between cartoon and anime was kinda niche.

But today's pop culture climate is so different. Hell, you arguably don't even need to make a difference because adults watching shows made for a younger audience isn't exactly unheard of. Stuff like MLP, Avatar, Gravity Falls etc. were all attracting adult audiences. Nostalgic reboots of old animated stuff is very much a thing and seems aimed at capturing the old fans who are now grown ups as well as a new, toy-buying audience. And of course, it's more normalized/understood that animated show doesn't automatically equal a show for 10 year olds. Even outside of animated stuff, adults liking YA material isn't new or taboo.

I'm not saying classifying it as a teen show would necessarily fix all the problems, but I'd definitely be less harsh towards it, because, well, it's not meant to be taken seriously. It's not an excuse to be total shit, the reason some of the above mentioned shows attracted an adult audience at all is because they showed something can be written for kids but still be good enough to appeal to an audience of all ages. But with shows like that, you can forgive certain elements because of the target audience. Like, if a character falls from 30 feet and jumps back up a few seconds later and starts fighting in Avatar, I can suspend my disbelief in a way I wouldn't with a more "adult" show.

Season 2 focused on this gay melodrama between Stolas and Blitz. What comes after?
Mother issue’s and fat acceptance? How much do we know about Vivziepop mother? The bitch is super open, talking about her parents cheating on each other online and at conventions. But I heard no one brought up if she had mommy issues or not. Maybe Stella is based on Vivziepop's mother? Somehow the Internet hasn't caught on yet?

Is it true Trashbin wasn't meant to have God & Satan, but decided to include it anyway? And somehow God is a weird anon-lookalike that has the shape of Valentino (that has 4 eyes) that can get pregnant - such as He did with Lucifer? And that Lucifer himself got pregnant with Charlie? If so, this is Fujoshi brain disease to the maximum.

So I haven’t watched the episode yet, but apparently, Martha and Mrs. Mayberry are in it? I actually kinda liked those characters, I won’t lie. Did Viv find a way to ruin them as well?
There’s a part where Blitzo makes a list of people to “apologize” (as in not genuinely) to and Martha is the first one. He visits her home to give her a gift basket and then we see Mayberry come out of the shower behind her, revealing the two are now together.

How did Blitzo upset this many people? I saw demons from the Greed Ring, one from Gluttony, and another from Sloth. Why is he being treated as this evil guy for doing BAD things to people in a place where doing BAD things is encouraged? Or again, is it just another plot thing where only HE'S getting scrutinized for it??
It almost felt like an subtle jab at this episode when Blitzo (paraphrasing) said, "Why do you care about how much of an asshole I am?! Hello, we live in Hell!" Vivienne probably wants him to be like BoJack Horseman since that show got lots of praise for the main character being a terrible person and called out for it.

When the DCAU, the Marvel animated shows, and Gargoyles handle mature themes for a younger audience better than Steven Universe, Hazbin Hotel, and Helluva Boss, perhaps the writing for the latter shows are just pale imitations of the former.

They apparently are dating or is implied.

Whether it’s for rule of funny or Viv wanting new merch opportunities, who can really say.

Only cause Viv only truly cares about yaoi relationships

How did Blitzo upset this many people?
Don’t know if this was about the party, but it looked like Verosika inflated the numbers by bringing her groupies with her, still weird to have a damn party like this.

You know, I just thought about something. What are the directions for these shows at this point?

So, apparently, redemption will be accepted by Heaven in season 2 of HH, and.. then what? What's going to be the main contrived plot for season 3? (If it even gets greenlit) Vivzie is literally shooting herself in the foot.

What about HB? Season 2 focused on this gay melodrama between Stolas and Blitz. What comes after? Are there going to be more episodes about this 'romance'? I honestly can't see the next episode just being a comedy about hellborn hitmen killing humans again. Like, what's the point? The other main characters already had their 'dedicated episodes'. Now what? Genuinely.
With Hazbin it would probably be the whole Eve/Root of all Evil stuff or Alastor being the bad guy.

As for Helluva Boss, given the leaks of Octavia telling off Stolas, I won’t be surprised if Season 3 is all about how Octavia should feel bad for telling off her manchild father who is such a delicate fragile flower.

They're lesbians now.

This actually makes me feel physically ill.

These two who despised each other are now suddenly lesbians because the Lord their Goddess Viv says so.

Gentlemen, it has been an honor serving with you all. If you’ll excuse me, I have to put a bullet in my eye now.

So basically, daddy issues and making Blitzo the bad guy. Again. I'd like to be entertained and maybe find out more about Blitzo and his sister, not sit through another episode of Vivienne's trauma/fetishes.

I guarantee the end of the second season the gay ship will be official

The daughter will be the bad guy this time for not accepting her cheating gay dad.

Seriously wished this show stayed a comedy instead of the gay soap opera it became

I still make the argument that Steven Universe is an utterly shameless rip off of the Jumi arc from Legend of Mana. With Steven and pink Diamond taking the role of Pearl and Black Pearl. The resolution is even the same.

How so exactly? (Never watched either shows).

>"We still have that trailer line of Octavia calling Stolas so we will probably, and hopefully, see Stolas own up to his behavior!"

>"Stolas is the MPV of the episode, him being petty is fun! I am here for all the melodrama. This is much better than watching the cherubs."

*dies from shit fiction*

>"There is a dissonance between what we seen and what we're shown in this episode, this idea that Stolas tried so hard when he clearly didnt. (...) There is this dissonance this season, where it feels like the writing chooses things to ignore to push a narrative"

He's beginning to believe

I like the part where he points out Stolas says Blitzo talks like Striker and not Stella, he would've "eaten the humble pie" if Stolas mentioned Stella but also brags about getting it right that it's not her fault. He also points out Stolas hypocrisy with the phone messages and fetishising blitzo.

This video could've been 10 minutes long, he just repeats the same things and is almost self aware but keeps saying we should wait and see for the show to deliver. A fuckton of comments keep repeating how "Stolas will totally learn better in the future", These people deserve the slop they eat.

He also shown a part of his reaction video and he literally cried during stolas song and hahaha gaaay

I headcanon that since both couples are in Hell now, they somehow got together and figured that what happened on Earth doesn't really matter much now since they're in Hell. And they become swingers. It's the funniest option for me.

Maybe we'll get an explanation in one of the three shorts that will be coming out before GhostFuckers, but it will never be as good as the one I came up with.

No matter where they go with that, it will still be a better love story than Stolitz
