"Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

The Kobes steak dinner was cracking me up because of the Vivaldi in the background. Usually that content grosses me out to where I want to vomit, but when accompanied with classical music, it's hysterical. I suggest making a playlist of classical music to go with abhorrent cooking videos, like:
Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours
And you GOTTA have Minuetto
But if there's something truly horror-cow 'kitchen nightmare' being made, Night on Bald Mountain would go perfect with it.

I even made a 'dinner time' news hamster for such an occasion.

I might have something for Tuesday.

There´s a apparently a sort of start-up car maker called Fisker who (with significant venture capital) tried to take a shot at the first plug in hybrid supercar 10-ish years ago which failed spectacularly.
Well they reemerged in 2023, this time with the fully electric Fisker Ocean One. An obvious attempt to ape Tesla, with the same tech industry "Ship now, patch later" attitude.
So another EV monstrosity that relies heavily on it´s operating system with regular OTA software updates. But earlier this year it became clear that the cycle was doomed to repeat itself again and Fisker would shit the bed hard. And people wondered... what would happen to my 38,999$ (base MSRP) car if the company went under?

Well....

Yes, we´ve reached the "Cars as a service" milestone of our dystopian clown world.

To make things better, the CEO has a pajeet wife with a hyphenated last name who made a bunch of business decisions that fucked over the company again.

A used older BMW is better than any electric car

A Mr. Del Walker, a BuhLack video game artist made a Twitter post about how each and every time his team tried to make an attractive black woman for a video game, they'd get vetoed and the design would be replaced with a Black Wine Aunt.

Day or so later, he posts this and locks the comments.
Some are speculating he was threatened into silence, personally I think he's just a good House Nigger.
Edit: I've attached the OP as a file.

You're conflating two different things. The Fisker (and Tesla, and so on) are bad because of the computer systems that control them, which are externally controlled. Tesla decides if your Tesla works, your Fisker dies when Fisker dies.

Then there's the GPS surveillance stuff, where the company can sell your location and driving habits to the government or to advertising companies or whatever. These are in most cars. The "used older BMW" needs to be older than 1998 to not have this feature. A Cadillac needs to be older than 1997. If you don't want a car with these technologies, you're aiming for something at least 25 years old, or you're going to have to modify the car to cut the cell antenna.

Assuming you're buying a car newer than 25 years old and are willing to either accept the cell antenna or cut it out yourself, whether the car can get remote fucked by the manufacturer or not isn't dependent on whether or not it's electric, it's dependant on the manufacturer. The Chevy electric cars, for example, have the cell antenna you need to cut that it uses for OnStar, but works perfectly fine without it: the only feature you lose is OnStar. In fact, if you were someone like Josh who is at a real risk of not being allowed to use a credit card because the banks all hate him, certain electric cars would be easier to use and less risky; as long as his house has electricity he can charge his car without needing to buy gasoline. I know that you used to be able to buy gas with cash, but at least where I live that's not true at every gas station anymore. I've been to a gas station that required ID to pay in cash, and I've been to one that outright didn't take cash.

That's fucking insane, which country/region do you live in?
So I haven't left my house to explore the world in about a decade and now everything is different. Workers at the airport would look at me weird for insisting on using paper tickets (like I remember using) instead of their mega-AIDS phone app for moving through the airport. Apparently they are pushing RealID™ to move through the airport quickly but that shit sounds like cancer. I did have to get sniffed by dogs and have all my bags manually checked because I refused to play their game (I may have been carrying a few bottles of cough syrup and legal stimulants in a white powder for unrelated reasons)

It's pure discrimination for not sucking the identity reselling dick

Actkually. Most of the older systems no longer work as the cell companies discontinued those bands. Analog for the very oldest ones and 2G for the newer older ones. Some had an option for a new radio module but most are just dead weight. Looks like the only OnStar that still works is some 2014 or newer.

It's still pretty trivial to disconnect the systems in the newer vehicles. The cell modem for mine is now disconnected and the only functional loss was the compass. A little re-jiggering was needed to let the GPS antenna work with the radio so the on-board nav still worked, not that I ever use it.

??? what possible justification for id fuel purchases exist?
I asked at the time, and the response was that you had to have an ID to drive, and they only sell fuel to licensed drivers and not to people using the gasoline for other purposes.

The US. Don't want to self dox, but even if I did I don't remember where it was because I've done a lot of traveling. Eastern half of the country for sure.

To be fair, those two instances are the only two times anything like that has ever happened to me and it's not like there weren't other gas stations around at the time. I'm just thinking that it could be more common than I know since I rarely use cash.
