Easily the best boss in the game, love summoning Igon and him screaming like captain Ahab about harpooning Bayle.

On a separate note, I've now finished everything in the DLC and thoroughly enjoyed it but I loved Elden Ring anyway so that was a given. Only blight on the expierence was the final boss, what a piece of shit, as soon as he goes into second phase you get ganked, literally the only boss I had to drop the colossal sword for and switch to the dual blood nagis with bloodhound step. And mimic tear of course.

Miquella's charm seems to play into people's wants and desires rather than brainwashing them into being gay doing his bidding, as far as I can tell. My assumption would be that Miquella was playing all these people without informing Malenia about it. Could be that Malenia thought Radahn was after her brother's ass because he was an empyrean and leapt to protect him, alongside the general territorial fighting over the Elden Ring. I don't know if I'd consider his relationship with Mohg turning the lord of blood into a gay pedo with his magic either, to me it's more like he played into Mohg's grandiosity and desire for vengeance upon the Golden Order but was only using him to get closer to godhood.

Manletla got so mad that Radahn, the strongest Shattering warrior and best chance at retaining power forever, told him to fuck off with his Elden Prodestantism as an admirer of Godfrey and his order that Miquellet used his sister as a dirty bomb after seeing what it initially did to his Haligtree (which explains why she already knew about the bloom, why she already had a gold needle and why there's a seperate rot blossom in the Haligtree). Miqlittlela then decided to destroy not only himself but his cult, his other half brother and his cult, and the entity Saint Trina's sleep powers and future in a temper tantrum and last grasp at power after his coccoomer plan got fucked by his crippled sister's birth condition. I don't know why two empyrians can't be God and Elden Lord, is an empyrian like a battery while the consort is the mechanical part and you can't make one do the other's job?

Also I thought about it and I think there's more parallels between Godrick and Miquella than I think most people notice, mostly because it's "Miquella is LITERALLY A CHILD" (Not true, he's Malenia's twin so he's just a physically stunted runt of an adult) so they justify most of his actions, but they look like different shades of pathetic. Both get other people to do their dirty work (Godrick used his relation to Godfrey to have his men gather corpses to graft instead of doing it himself, Miquella manipulates people into doing shit for his lazy, physically unable ass), they were both born weak and very unlike demigods with Godrick getting fucked even harder because he wasn't a direct heir that can magically manipulate people like Miquella, Godrick uses the leftover scraps of bodies to empower himself while Miquella literally manipulated leftover creatures that were fucked over by their rulers (Misbegotten, Albinaurics, Crystalians b/c of fear of what happened to Azur and Lusat), both start hacking away at themselves when all seems lost just to reach for some kind of advantage, they even share a god complex... Despite this outside of the DLC I don't think I've seen a single person or item description not like Miquella or describe him negatively. I almost wish we could hear Kennith Haight's opinion on our misadventures in the Shadow Lands just to hear how he'd shittalk Reddit's darling baby.

Also picking Radahn for the final boss if we had to resurrect someone to be there was fucking lame, Miquella puppeting Ranni's corpse would've been better because at least we'd see how she'd fight I guess, or have Rykard make a second Gelmir to burn the Scadutree for a second try at a Haligtree, drying part of the ocean around the continent to make more empty land to explore or something. Even just Miquella using spirit ashes to fight us would've been better imo because he at least made the fucking bell we use and it'd play into his controlling others schtick.

Also I wish people would shut the fuck up about Berserk when talking about Fromsoft titles. I know they're there, like how I know there's other series they blatantly steal from that you ignore because it isn't Berserk, and I'm tired of hearing about it.

Rotten spear, frenzied flame shield, poke and poke and swap to a cold/bleed spear once he's rotted. Oh and my mimic on the side with the finger talisman/staff so he could spam healing and the pest spell. Wasn't my best moment but honestly fuck that boss, he's broken as hell.

Also Miquellas gay grab attack can be nulled by using his broken rune after, if he grabs you twice - you get your heart stolen. Miyazaki really did a jk and made you, the player, gay all along

This is the way. I got reasonably close with Antspur but it felt like he had two hitboxes, a collision one and one where he took damage, and I had trouble staying close to him to do enough damage. Put bleed on a great spear and just stood in front of him like I was doing a bad job using a lance in Monster Hunter and he died in one try. Incredibly shit boss, at least the miracle from his rune seems cool.

I do like the smithscript weapons they added. The daggers consistently headshot shorter things, the spear has a fun spear chucker animation, and the hammer does insane damage at pretty good range. Throwing a great hammer at those stupid birds they covered the entire DLC with and near oneshotting them is pretty fun.

I don't understand the objection. It's a horror game right? Or action/horror if you prefer, either way almost every major character does outrageously horrible shit - it's a world run by lying stealing, murdering, enslaving, torturing monsters who argue with each other by committing genocide. What could be more horrifying than a creature compelling your mind and forcing you to do things against your will? How about that creature compelling you to submit to their violation?

The story seething from Lorefags is kinda funny, but I can understand it. The basic story was interesting enough. The Tarnished is effectively just a tie-breaker in the event someone doesn’t win.

Prior to the DLC the story is effectively this:

The whole story starts with Godwyn’s assassination by a pact between the Carian’s and the Eternal Cities sanctioned by Marika in order to prevent Ranni’s apotheosis. For a while there is no actual war after Marika shatters the Elden Ring.

The War probably starts when Godrick and the Golden Lineage claim their right to be Elden Lord as the descendants of Godwyn. Godefroy leads a proper attack with Godrick undermining the defenses from within. The other Demi-Gods beat Godricks forces back and Godrick flees the city the Stormveil.

Morgott basically shuts the city to the other Demi-gods. Ranni is trying to find a way to sever her fate, Rykard knew of the plan, and Radahn holds the stars/ fate to give her time. Miquella investigates Godwyn’s corpse and abandons the Golden Order due to the inability of the Order to cure him and his sister. Godrick builds his own forces.

Miquella and Melania then start going on the offensive. A civil war erupts in Liurnia either due to Renalla being viewed as a depressed sad sack or due to encouraging by other factions. The March goes from Liurnia to Caelid. Godrick is subjected by Melana.

Battle of Aeonia has Malenia and Radahn battle. Maybe to cause an Eclipse so Miquella can kill Godwyn’s corpse and stop the Deathblight spread, but it’s not really stated. Radahn and Melania fight to a stalemate and forces her to do a suicide attack that fails to put down Radahn.

After this, Rykard is attacked by Morgott’s forces and the Shaded Manor. Feeds himself to a snake in desperation. Mogh kidnaps Miquella. Godrick goes back to grafting. Radahn’s boys try to put him down.

The player character and other tarnished are revived from the dead and sent back to the lands between in order to choose a winner.

Post DLC

Miquella wanted his bussy SMASHED AND SLAMMED by Radahn who said “No Way, fag”. After the battle he doesn’t help Melania recover, he lobotomizes a Radmane and gets kidnapped by Mogh because Mogh somehow can access the Shadow Realm because he bought enough Black Wings .

Miquella’s entire plan involves being murdered by Mogh in order to use Mogh’s lifeless corpse to serve as a vessel for Radahn’s soul. His entire plan revolves around you killing Radahn and Mogh for whatever reason.

Like the DLC turns it from desperation driving action to literal Game of Thrones Yaoi fanfic.

Scorned boywhore went to bitch about it to his sister, which started the entire conflict between Malenia and Radahn, which ended with the former having her rotting tits torn off by the latter, whom in turn started craving man flesh (not sexually).

Time passes, shit happens, twink ends up stealing Mohg's corpse (untainted by scarlet rot, it's also why flesh puppet Radahn can use Formless Mother's blood incantations), molding it into Radahn's form and inserting Radahn's mindbroken soul into it, because he WILL have elden ring (anus) shattered by his massive half-brother no matter what.

That's it. That's the plot. Someone at FS wrote it. Another person read it and not only hadn't immediately murdered the author, but decided to pass it along and have it implemented. Then another person looked at the finished product and went "aight, looks gay enough for westerners, ship it".

It seems that Radahn was mindbroken once Miquella snatched his soul. I'm guessing that's why Malenia started the war in the first place. If Radahn is dead, then his soul can be captured and he can be made into a gay puppet. But tbh I'm also not entrely sure if the whole consort thing is sexual or relationship based? It seems more like a champion title than anything. In the DLC you can even come across a cross in Trina's cave where Miquella says that he has abandoned love. He basically abandoned everything by the end of it just to complete his original plan and manipulate as many people to do his bidding to see it work out. I'm assuming this is one of the reasons why Trina even asks you to kill him, since he'd just turn into another Marika despite his attempts not to. Then again I wouldn't put it past japs to gay it up.

Also the ending scene of Miquella is him praying or wishing upon a star more or less. It is just a one sided monologue and we get no real confirmation if actual Radahn agreed to it. How I think it happened is that this offer was denied since Radahn is loyal to the Golden Order, Malenia was sent to kill Radahn for Miquella to take his soul and then things went not as planned and she couldn't kill him. Even in his maddened state Radahn was so fiercly loyal to the Golden Order that he held the stars in place to protect it. So I'm supposing that it shows that he never even considered a different age or rule.

Finally got to the final boss of the DLC.

Spoiler: A rant of how fucked up the whole thing is with spoilers

Let me get the obvious thing out of the way first: The boss fight gameplay.
For reference, I am at Scadutree level 19 and level 8 summon, playing with regular KB/M controls, dexfagging with the base odachi because I'm authentic nihon autistic.
Up until this point, the whole DLC has been fairly consistent with it's difficulty. Enemies too hard to stagger or deal enormous amount of damage to you despite you being able to tank way more in the base game? Go around, explore and collect the scadutree fragment to not gimp yourself. Not a fan of this Bethesda-esque approach to game scaling but not outrageously dumb like Oblivion's so that get a pass from me. Outside of a few stupidly hard to dodge like Commander Gaius and his hog where his hog charging at you has to be dodged sideways instead of diagonally in any direction or you get gored, the bosses are fairly manageable within a couple tries. Funnily enough, you find Gaius' pants after killing an albinauric archer on wolfback which carries interesting implication, of course they are fucking, who am I kidding?

Now back to Radahn, the first phase isn't that bad since most bosses by now should've conditioned you to always expect the boss to charge at your location really fast, discouraging any attempt at summoning after entering fog gate, but doesn't completely keep you out of summoning if you managed to find a time window to do so. However, the damage is dealt to you is wildly inconsistent. The uppercut then slam down attack barely does 1/3rd of your health bar while some wide slash either do half your bar or went through your crimson tear AND deplete the healed amount so fast you just fucking die. The problem with the first phase is that it is very hard to read how much delay is applied between his regular attacks. His right sword slam down, delayed by a couple seconds then followed up by a left and right swing that only have 0.5 seconds between each strike, deliberately forcing you into panic roll if you get hit by the right strike, then he will follow up with another chain right after and then you're certified fucked.

If you managed to get to his second phase, prepare for all the bullshit mentioned in phase 1, adding follow up holy probing beams up your ass after each of his attack, some more sekiro-esque bullshit thrown into the mix and an near impossible to avoid AoE attack:
- The massive AoE attack that he casts on you will always start at the center of your position, that is practically guaranteed to happen if he does it right at the beginning where you are right in front of him. The only reliable way to avoid it is to run in one direction of your choice and NEVER STOP, make sure to add a dodge near the end to guarantee the blast doesn't hit you. However, you are doing something or is recovering from an action, that AoE is GUARANTEED TO HIS YOUR ASS no matter what.
- His regular sword swing attacks now also call down holy beam up your ass following the trail of his attacks. This practically forcing you to dodge in the same direction of his horizontal attacks or sideways if vertical, not AWAY from him. You know how good camera work is in these games, you can see fuck all when close up to a target that big and you can't really see much of what he is going to do so it's guaranteed damages that you CAN'T see.
- There's an attack that he telegraphed briefly before dashing into your direction. He casts dozen spirits dashing toward you that if you get hit even in one of them you're fucked. Another one of the same type is him leaping into the hair, raining down those spirits at you like Malenia and the big hit is the last one. Another one is if he decided to randomly use it to secure a hit on you while on the ground. You see the pattern here? Now, with Malenia's rot spirits that she spawn to attack you, there is a clear 1.5 second interval between each of their attack before the final big hit. Radahn's? FUCKING NEAR INSTANTANEOUSLY, STAGGERING WITH EACH HIT EVEN AT 101 POISE THAT YOU TAKE GUARANTEED FINAL HIT NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRY TO DODGE OR PANIC ROLL.
If you haven't caught on already, the theme of Radahn's boss fight is no matter what you do, you'll get hit regardless of what you do, and it'll hurt when you do get hit. Unfortunately, either it is because of skill issue on my side or the boss is genuinely not play tested properly. The way he fight, the speed at which he dish out attacks would fit more in Sekiro because at least you're more nimble and responsive in that game, and parrying attacks can negate damage somewhat if timed properly, but alas it's not and I decided to put the game down for now and go find the ashes of war and other things in the DLC that I haven't found yet. Maybe when I come back to him they decided to slow him down a bit.

One more thing: Killing a gay, necrophilic AND incestuous twink god? During LGBTBBQ++ month? How based of you Miyazaki.
