Elden Ring

That's a big problem I have with the Divine Beast Dancing Lion boss, it has a lot of bloodborne tendencies which the camera can't handle, especially if it gets you up against a wall. And the way animations are done now, the boss would rather float in front of you so you see the entire attack instead of overshooting past you like a big clumsy monster would, it makes his 4 hit combo move incredibly hard to respond to because you don't know where the game will have his model move.
Really all they need to do is put a second lock-on anchor on its "tail" half so that targeting it feels less awkward.

So in order to become Elden Lord you need to fuck an empyrian and your choices are a woman with a rotten vagina that will give you super AIDS, a soul possessing a doll and a femboy. Thier world is beyond fucked.

This is why becoming Lord of the Frenzied Flame is the only moral choice. There is no ethical consumption under the Elden Lord.

I haven't bought the DLC myself so take this with a grain of salt but from everything I've seen, this DLC's bosses are largely very very bloodborne-esque, even more so than the base game's more aggressive bosses.

Thing is, this game isn't bloodborne, it doesn't have a true rally system. That system is what made BB work so well in regards to aggressive enemies. The issue I've had with some main game bosses and what seems to be carried over but worse in the DLC is that most of the boss fight is just waiting for the boss to finish their 30-60 second anime bullshit wombo-combo that'll curb stomp you if you even get glanced by it, to get 1-2 swings in yourself before it does another dumbass combo. You can't afford to be overly aggressive like in BB because your HP recovery is way more finite than in that game.

Rate me dumb, call it a skill issue, but I don't think soft-forcing a player into a certain build/playstyle is something that should be aspired to in the souls/rings games. It works for Armored Core, leave it there. I miss the days of DS1, 2 and to a lesser extent 3 where not only different builds but different play styles were as viable as one another. Be it more aggressive dodgeroll glass cannon or defensive damage sponge tanking.
I came to the same conclusion and I have had a lot of success so far in the dlc dual wielding the great stars as a kind of pseudo rally (also slap on the blue dancer and the rotten wings).

So what build styles are no longer viable, because that’s the major gameplay complaint I keep seeing?
This is all you need

Magic is probably a pain in the dick because the bosses spend most of the time riding yours so I expect finding time to cast would be difficult. Giant Crusher, or a similar no dexfag weapon, is probably a pain as well since things are fast but it was possible to kill Malenia with it so it should be fine for every boss in this. You can steamroll through everything with bleed the same as you could in the base game.

Bosses are generally faster and more annoying but the only one that really made me go "fuck this" was the last one, and a shield+spear combo trivializes him to the point of being retarded.

Putrid Knight might be the worst boss in Elden Ring, and when compared to the ones with a Remembrance, it's for sure the worst by far.
Looks like shit, is annoying to fight as he is always moving away from you and his fire attack is a pain in the ass
You can jump all his flame attacks and it's actually super forgiving. As long as you jump the forceful wave part you can land in them and take no damage and IIRC your frostbite won't even build up. He did take like 10 tries though.

Radahn is fucking wild dude I've been doing pretty good so far with Golden Beast Crest + Blood Noble's Slender with Blood Tax but I haven't even made it to his second phase yet he's absolutely shitting on me.

To paraphrase @Sniperwoof, knowing that people are this pants-shittingly mad about a DLC that is DS2-tier at best and mediocre at worst actually enhances my enjoyment of it. I encourage you to keep playing the DLC and making these seetheposts, I think it might actually be extending my lifespan and improving my overall enjoyment of life.
Costumers aren't satisfied with the $40 product they purchased. But since the company is Fromsoft it's "seething". 🙄

they're all still viable, you just cant stunlock every boss anymore
I figured not viable meant “I took the cheese path every time, and didn’t learn how to play, and it’s no longer having that”, but when I started seeing all the Soulsborne artists I follow complaining too, I decided I’d ask.

Plain lightweight dex can be fairly difficult to pull off I think. A lot of shit can get faster than you with light rolling and will fuck with you too much. Also tons of mini staggering attacks that expect you to poise through at least. You'll just end up using tanky ashes or mimic ash. Pure casters also seem to be extremely painful to play as solo since tons of bosses in DLC can close in insanely fast. There are at least three which can just charge you down instantly the moment you step into the gates, so you won't be able to even open up with a longer cast. Then they really pressure you that casting might prove really difficult unless there is a distraction. TECHNICALLY everything works if you have an ash or a phantom, since you are given a bit of breathing room to help you recuperate and realize what you are doing.

Giant Crusher
Giant Crusher works ez pz if you do jumping attacks or Lion Claw weapon art. I killed some bosses using double Giant Crusher. Greathammers are just better however due to speed.

That contradicts nothing - sodomy isn't about love (which faggots aren't capable of in the first place), because there can be no love in blasphemous, degenerate, repulsive, evil acts like homosexuality and incest. It's all about lust.
I don't think people horny for femboys and other cringe shit will readily admit to themselves that faggotry isn't about love. The whole point about Miquella and why we kill him is because he lost his compassion and other good qualities in his pursuit for Godhood, so he just became another Marika who just seen everyone as a pawn. Marika also done suspect shit where she turned into Radagon or some shit to fuck around with that poor Carian girl and break her heart in the process to the point she became a babbling cretin who barely recognizes her surroundings. Done it strictly for power and territory gain btw. So he is a manipulator and a deceiver in the first place, who throws a fit and starts a ruinous war over his plans not coming together. I think with that it is kinda pointless to discuss how much of a disgusting sodomite he is, when he is just a powerhungry faggot who is ready to throw everyone under a bus. A quality that in my opinion is worse than just being a weirdo gay. Is it dissapointing that Memezaki just went for le grimdark everyone is gay and evil twist for this specific character? Probably. If you want to get From then get angry for them writing yet ANOTHER story about the church being irredeemably evil.

Yes, because fags shouldn't exist in video games at all, even as villains. Video games are supposed to be escapism, and witnessing a fag in a video game reminds some people too much of themselves and the reality is far too much to bear.
In reality, every Souls game has homosexuals.
Dexterity builds.

Shit.

I’m gonna need to respec probably. I was trying to hold off to see what they patch before I buy and spend time doing that.

I already complained about him reusing themes/aesthetics, but this is another one.

It’s bad enough he tried to remove any nuance to Gwyn and the other Lords in DS3 dlc for that reason, but then again in Bloodborne. I also felt it was wrong to remove the third path from DS2 as an option between flame light/flame die, and I think it’s because he wants that binary to further push you towards the dark (Reddit’s favorite path).

I’m disappointed he went a little lazy in his designs and writing here. I know he can do better, he’s an innovator in his field. He’s not some drug addled loser in San Francisco hired by committee.

Sounds like you can't appreciate the glory and majesty of A-Team sir.

The only ones I could see that consistently being a problem with are Radahn and the Putrescent Knight since they both move around a lot and the former pretty much never stops attacking. Scadutree Avatar and Gaius are probably also weird ones since I've had times where all they do is dash and times when they use localized attacks which I think speaks to a general problem: sometimes bosses just say fuck it and use the same thing over and over. It's fine (mostly) when it's just something that hurts but when it's "I'm on the other side of the arena now" it's pretty annoying.

DS2 had the most hopeful and unique path in my opinion. It was super open ended, but not like a drool of "continue something broken" or "burn everything down". ER had many endings but none of them felt impactful, especially when knowing that Memezaki will always find a way to fuck over a seemingly good ending and make it a bad ending anyways.

For some fights I ended up using a tower shield against with ironically no skill weapon art, so that I can do Lions Claw when defending. For some fights I just switched to double Heavy Stars or some other greathammers since they do not have the stupid delay after a jumping attack. One viable great weapon built I seen my friend do is going doing kinda high risk with all the damage boosting talismans (even Radagon's Soreseal), pumping full into STR, END and VIG (maybe a bit of mind for focus points but tbh blessed blue dew talisman does a good job as well) and doing Lions Claw with Alexanders Shard. You'll end up doing consistent 6k-8k dmg (with greataxes) depending on blessings you have. You'll be able to burn down bosses quick enough, but have way less windows for a mistake. Shit like Radahn and Hippo might be a problem however. I seen him burn down Bayle really quick however.

But again, a tower shield with no skill weapon art does wonders and I believe it is time to stop being afraid of using shields to avoid being called a scrub or something. These games are totally based around the fact that people will use shields. The whole le scrub le casul thing can be left for Reddit for all I care. I wanna enjoy the game fully without caring what people think. After all, you don't get rewarded in any way for completing this game in a certain way. They abandoned this after DS2.

Beat faggot prime because I won't let the gays rule over me. I used a guide to get all the scat material and honestly that treasure hunt is more fun than the actual gameplay. The fight itself was way easier than before and I feel like I could have probably done it before the last bit of grind but got stuck in the usual cycle of repeating the boss without a break.

Final thoughts on the DLC:
It still really bad. I wouldn't even grace it with mediocre score. There are too much design issues in virtually every aspect of it:
* The progression system makes no sense. You have some areas with tons of scat, and entire regions with nothing, some of the scat is insanely hard to come by like a random NPC on some corner of the map that has nothing with it. Having some blind modifier in itself is extremely lazy and you can't really see the difference unless you happen to use the scat in a middle of an area. They should have either went with Sekiro style levels from bosses, or had you reset to level 1 with all your items and free respecs which would have been far more fun lite NG+. The weird progression system also ruins the bosses since sometimes you do bosses in the wrong order and then they are either an insane jump in difficulty that you can't know is unintended, or easy as shit. This results in a the progression system being a massive filler, as you pretty much have to grind to play the content, and without it you could have probably finished it in 5 hours.

* The bosses are awful. First of all they all have a crazy second phase, making that feature really overused and just makes the first phase feel like filler. They are also too aggressive, seemingly immune to the stamina system hampering the player. Some of them move too erratically which coupled with the bad camera just makes you attack the air. Also they have a tendency to do ridiculous 180 turn around mid combo to focues on the player. The final boss itself can have an entire essay on everything wrong with him (and some did it here). It's so bad I don't really want to clear all the side content because I know it will just be the same unfun shtick.

* Plot is non-existent. You meet some random people in the start and don't engage them the entirety of the DLC (unless you read a guide) until the last level. The idea of going after the crosses could have been cool if the bosses were remnants of Miquolla rather than really random enemy designs. You finally meet creepy uncle that dies like a pussy and then it's final boss time. Nothing really happens and you don't even get a new ending option despite the dialogue suggesting it.

* Balacing wise if I didn't use a bleed build I'd probably have hit a brick wall since the devs decided that physical damage is wrong unless the enemy is immune to bleed, and I managed to kill all the main bosses up to the penultimate one using bleed and pure dodging. In general it's weird how bleed is still completely busted after it was too strong in the base game (or at least I heard it was but didn't use it for anything besides Malenia).

* Random enemies are pointless and can nearly be all skipped. At that point why even have them and not just do a Shadow of the Colossus style boss rush?

* I didn't care for any new items or equipment, Bloodborne and DS3 were smart enough to show you the awesome new weapons to make you want to use them, while here it's just yet another Katana.

* Map is fine but ways of reaching areas is just not well illustrated. Like half the map is locked behind finding a well/small hole in a random village (not the big hole that instantly kills you), or the always fun "use emote in front of statue". A lot of areas are completely barren. The side dungeons are absolute shit.
