What exactly made the website go to the Right in 2016 when most users at the time weren't?

How did the site handle Gamergate in 2014? I know we have a massive thread on Brianna Wu, so I assume that it must have been seen as a heckin' evil 4channer misogynerd website back then. If KF was mostly liberal in 2014, how did they justify using a site that didn't fall exactly in line with SJW opinions?

The website was far more split on Gamergate back in 2014. Some people were super into it but most didn't give a fuck and thought it was cringe.

Gamergate itself was almost entirely contained to journalists writing articles and websites like Tumblr. It was nothing like drama today where people actively discuss it in videos and create memes about it.

The world was totally different back then. Back then the people who were shaming others were feminists who talked about how rape was the worst thing a man could ever do. Trannies weren't even a topic of discussion back then. They would also label you as a "potential rapist" for thought crime. Rape was always the topic of discussion. This didn't really fully die until the Amber Heard trial when it became clear and obvious that women can and will lie about sexual assault for money. The only time people talk about feminists nowadays it's in reference to how they don't like trannies.

Meowthkip back then was definitely on the side of "wow those women are cray-zee" but as soon as "trannies get the rope too" became a topic of discussion she jumped ship.
