Dr. Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch - Turns out he was a groomer

Because I believe in "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, not public opinion", you absolute fucking sped.

I'm reserving my right to judge until more comes out. Twitch lost the civil case against him. This makes me further believe that what's coming out now is just Twitch butt mad they lost, and they're trying to ruin him.

I don't know how or why you're defending someone with this argument when the subject in question has admitted to having inappropriate conversations with someone under the age of 18 as a 40 year old married man.

This isn't a court of public opinion matter at this point. It's a fact verified by the person themselves.

I'm going to lean a bit more towards after because if it was before then twitch would have won the civil case, instead of losing it
Twitch never actually lost, both parties settled for an undisclosed amount.

Also I get the sinking feeling that both Twitch and Guy actually colluded to cover up the entire story in exchange for Guy leaving the site forever and getting a settlement, it's not that crazy to believe a bunch of businessmen would cover up someone sexting a minor, look at Doug Walker who knew JewWario was a pedophile for years, covered up his knowledge about it til years after his death and Doug still has a career on YouTube.

Dude, he admitted it. There is no (((Twitch))) conspiracy.

Also, who knows I guess, but the fact that he didn’t say “I didn’t know her age and unfortunately it turns out she was a minor” seems telling.

Legal mindset with craig on Dr. Disrespect

twitch acknowledges that your saying your 18-year-old at least to use the whisper function.

It's also a 4-7 year old potential case. Statute of limitations are a thing, you know.

Called it yesterday, the conversation did happen but it wasn't enough to legally prosecute him. All that's left to be determined is did he know this person's age before or after the fact, if it was before he has no grounds at all to try and uphold himself like this, if it was after then he can have the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah I'm gonna have to share the sentiment here. Is he a retarded shitbag for flirting with fans over the internet? Yes. But if it was an 18+ app or whatever and he found out they were underaged after the messages were sent that changes things drastically.

Whether or not a statute of limitations applies changes nothing about this being creepy as fuck and highly sus. I'm not calling for his execution. I'm not calling for his head. I'm not calling for prison.

I'm calling for his ass to lose his platform and influence over minors as he's admitted to not having proper judgement regarding inappropriate conversations / conduct with minors and people like that shouldn't be in a position of unquestioned public acceptance.

I'm going to let you in on a legal secret, when companies settle for an undisclosed amount it means they don't want information out publicly. Twitch ultimately knows that details surrounding this case is going to make them look bad if they ever come out, as for dr.disrespect it's fairly obvious why he doesn't want info out. In any case it is a lose/lose situation for twitch, if disrespect knew the minor was a minor beforehand then it means twitch hid that fact for reason of his ban, and if it's the latter option then twitch unfairly banned a guy for information he didn't know. Either way twitch loses in the public eye

So the way they did that was by fabricating a case where a minor used their platform to sext with Dr. Diddler?

I legit think you’re like 14 years old and won’t bother engaging more with you.

They wouldn't have to fabricate anything, considering the fact that they let the minor in without questioning anything. Also, minors lie on the internet all the time.

I really wonder exactly what was written, considering he wrote "Casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate.".
Was he straight up sexting? Was he leading on a paypig with mommys credit card to spend more, and the kid fell in love?

Everyone in this thread is assuming he was messaging a girl, but considering gay sex is top tier in what twitchtards consider humour, could it be "humourous jokes" in the form of homo banter?

The issue however with any charitable explanation is that if such a explanation existed, Dr.Disrespect would have been very clear with that. As vague as he is being, one could only assume that the explanation is a hard buy or clearly not true and he was straight up trying to fuck a minor.

The part I really don't get is how so many people seem to have known about this, including Twitch staff and journalists, yet they've all just sat on it for years while he's remained popular with access to kids this whole time. If you a) had evidence a grown man was trying to meet up with a kid for sex, as alleged, and b) have a moral compass, surely you'd have at least made an anonymous tip somewhere to satiate your conscience? If he was genuinely gonna do it, banning him from Twitch alone wouldn't have stopped him.

Obviously if it's true he can lie under a guillotine for all I care, but the fact a Twitch staff member miraculously happened to stumble upon these chatlogs (since there doesn't seem to have been mention of the minor reporting him) gives credence to the "someone at Twitch had beef with him" theory, and they could easily be exaggerating how bad the conversation actually was. As an adult in the current climate he should know better than to talk to youngsters in private messages in general, but saying he's careless and saying he's a predator are two very different accusations, and I want to see the offending chatlogs before I feel comfortable making either one.
To me the reason why I’m not fully pro wood chipper is that there is a lot of shit we don’t know and the facts aren’t lining up.

1.) Doc filed the civil case, since he felt entitled to the remainder of the money in his partner contract.
2.) Twitch and Doc settled the case out of court, there wasn't a judgement made.
3.) If Twitch hadn't settled the case, they could've just pulled the DMs and said "We banned Doc because he was engaging in conduct that violated our terms of service." The problem is just that lawsuits like these take years to settle, and the amount of time and money it would take to respond to Doc's case would likely exceed any amount of money they could get from him if they won.

In short, they didn't lose. They did the math and figured it would be a better investment of time and money to just settle out of court.

Not to mention it's been 3 years since they settled. If they were butthurt about the terms of the settlement, they would've leaked this in 2021, instead of waiting for a former employee to leak it in 2024.
