Dr. Disrespect permanently banned from Twitch - Turns out he was a groomer

Damn I thought I read it shut down.
I'm having a really strong hallucination if they did.

If the Whispers app was in fact 18+, then that does not expunge him of guilt. He shouldn't have been texting fans. Underage or not. Inappropriately or not.

It does make me feel like I give less of a shit. Reminds me of that Cody Wilson ghost gun guy. You have money, and someone young and attractive is throwing themselves at you. You have no reason initially to doubt they are perfectly legal to fuck. You've done this more than a few times. Whoops, underage! Which is why you don't text your fans, future super-stars reading this thread for their half-hour drama videos about the topic.

And to everyone saying he would have gotten away with it if he didn't get caught: Well... he didn't really get caught. At least not until way after he could have possibly done something unforgivable. Nobody at Twitch knew about the logs until (up to/over) three years after the fact. He could have been texting this youngster for months or years, and could have met up, could have groomed off platform after the fact, and didn't get caught until way after the fact. I want to re-iterate that it really, really doesn't look good for Twitch, either. It would make sense why they would want this buried. They have investors to answer to, after all, about their underaged-viewer-to-streamer direct sexual slalom they designed.

Also, as more time goes on, we have to keep in mind that the likelihood of it being a young girl goes down and the odds of it being a young man go up.

Other than not having the logs for the full context, it is kind of odd for all this to suddenly pop off. Twitch sat on this for (over) three years and allegedly some ex-staff aired this with a "dude trust me bro" all of sudden? Sounds like that dude has beef with Doc or there is something else with the alleged ex-staff member.

He shouldn't have been texting fans.
I didn't know it was illegal for adults to message each other.

Until i see logs i don't believe anything wrong was done here. If it was Twitch not reporting is far bigger news imo. The fact it never went anywhere with a criminal investigation or case makes me think its complete bullshit.

The text messages were in 2017. Twitch didn't do anything until 2020. Twitch knew in 2020 that Dr. Disrespect didn't meet the minor for sex at Twitchcon in 2017. Otherwise Dr. Disrespect would be in jail.

Twitch didn't stop something bad from happening. Nothing happened without their intervention. They were either looking for an excuse to terminate the contract 3 years after the fact. Or the "minor" contacted Twitch 3 years later to tell them what happened.

This shit was happening pre-internet just as much if not more, you just didn't hear about it because there was no paper trail. If anything social media had reduced how much this happens because people have to think twice about doing things in an age where someone can pull a phone out in seconds and record proof or post screenshots of a conversation.
No, people heard about it pre-internet, it just wasn't considered as big of a deal as it is now. We're in a completely different cultural space now.
In the 70s, banging teenage groupies was considered par for the course for rock stars and they didn't really shy away from talking about it or writing a shitload of songs about their love of teen snatch. Everybody from The Beatles to KISS to Neil Diamond was singing about young pussy in those days (KISS' "Christine Sixteen" was a top 25 hit in the US). Elvis Presley was banging Priscilla when she was 14 and nobody really cared. Elvis continued to be the biggest star in the world. Ted Nugent literally bought a teenage girl from her parents and had them sign over legal guardianship to him. This is all a matter of public knowledge.

This is in no way a defense of any adult doing inappropriate shit with anyone underage, just noting that the cultural norms have changed drastically.
Where once the biggest rock stars in the world could openly screw teenage girls, write songs about it and face zero consequences, now video game streamers have their entire lives turned upside down over text messages nobody has seen to people they've never met 7 years after the fact.

Other than not having the logs for the full context, it is kind of odd for all this to suddenly pop off. Twitch sat on this for (over) three years and allegedly some ex-staff aired this with a "dude trust me bro" all of sudden? Timing is definitely weird and I'm still trying to figure out why Twitch paid Doc the full value of his contract if he violated their terms. It would seem to me that if they had proof of him doing anything that broke his contract (or the law) while using their platform they would have every right to not honor his contract. If Doc sued, Twitch's lawyers would have these text logs on deck to prove a breach of whatever terms or morality clause may have been in the contract.

Twitch's initial statement about the ban in 2020 said Doc "acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service". It doesn't say he violated his contract. Maybe that doesn't mean anything, I'm just trying to understand why they'd pay him. Seems pretty clear that an NDA designed to protect both parties was drafted and that it is now null and void because of two former employees spilling the beans. It'll be interesting to see what Doc does after this (assuming he doesn't either retire or do a flip). He may be entitled to sue not just Twitch but both of the guys who came forward with the story.

For fucks sake, man, don't be pulling out the Ephebophilia card. I don't think it needs to be stated that him messaging a minor is 100% dangerous no matter the context.
Christ no. I'm just saying there's a difference between making inappropriate comments in a conversation involving a minor versus making actual sexual advances to a minor. Neither one is good, but one is an actual crime.

First, I'm not going to hold anything against the people who were a fan of Doc and are disappointed by this news. I'm also not going to hold it to anyone who defended him before he admitted to it.

But I'll be honest, we need to start rounding some of you up. Let's ignore the biggest retard in the thread for a moment, he's annoying but he's obviously not speaking for everyone in the thread. Are you guys BLIND?

"Well, yeah, he admitted to it, but let's get the DETAILS before making HASTY judgement."
"There's a big differences between being "" spicy "" with a 17 year old and sexting a 15 year old!"

I've unironically NEVER seen this site make that argument for ANY other lolcow. I was actually SHOCKED at how many times I've seen that sentiment in this thread. The dude ADMITTED to it.

HE'S IN THE WRONG. No matter how you dice or slice it, he's IN THE WRONG.

1. He messaged this person on his MAIN platform of income. It wasn't even fucking offsite like the pedophiles do with Discord/Snapchat. Who the FUCK does that shit at work?

2. The man is older (old enough to know better), been in this career long enough (knows how the internet works, knows how the public feels about fan x influencer dynamics), has a wife and kid(s) (people who he's obviously aware of and still decided to do it anyways), and ALL he was concerned about was chatting his fans on whispers, of all things. Who the FUCK cares that maybe the ToS says 18+? They're private DMs on a site that's not 18+. You're telling me that we as adults are under the assumption everyone is following the ToS? Y'all being "" spicy "" people you haven't verified the age of? Y'all are joking.

3. In what other context would people hear someone admit to being "" inapporiate "" with an UNDERAGE fan and then follow up with "Well, hold on a minute. What's the details of those messages though?" This is a gossip forum. Everyone wants to see the context of the messages. It's just the nature of the site. We want the details. You do not need to state it 50 times in a row and it's weird as fuck that it needs to be stated by everyone who's responding.

4. It does not need to be explained that Twitch sucks. Everyone knows. Twitch spending money on a contract is not a sign of jack shit besides protecting themselves. That's all they've ever done, it's all they've ever thought about. It's the #1 reason why people hate them. They ban people to cover their back. They take people's incomes and careers because they want to protect their platform.

If you REALLY want to make the argument that his desire to get his dick wet blinded to the point he's forgotten how everything in the adult world works, then sure. He might not be an intentional pedophile, just an accidental pedophile who's profoundly retarded. If that helps you feel better, then maybe we can give him the benefit of the doubt.

But at this point, is that a hill worth dying on?

I mean…do you ever wonder why ppl act like this is court? It’s like when Armie Hammer’s sexts came out and some people rushed to defend his cannibalism fetish because “it was just a fantasy between two consenting adults.”

Well, I can still think it’s a disgusting act of a deviant that I don’t want to see in movies anymore. In the past we rightly shamed people who acted unacceptably out of society.

And what Dr. Disrespect did is worse than that. There is 0 excuse for a dude in his 30’s to be sending any casual chat messages to a teenager, much less ones that “veer into the inappropriate.” I don’t care if he skirted the letter of the law just enough.
Indeed. That's exactly why I hate the pedantic argument of "b-but this isn't illegal!!!"
It misses the point, and changes the argument into autistic nitpicking.

Back to what drdisrespect said:
I'm no fucking predator or pedophile. Are you kidding me? Anyone that truely knows me
Those people didn't know you were messaging a minor. Also, in that text, he probably should have put something along the lines of "I didn't know her age" so none of this is looking good at all.

Going by reddit, the cheating on his wife scandal also happened in 2017.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DrDisrespectLive/comments/7jzwgf/dr_disrespect_unfaithful_megathread/
And going by Google search results, it all came out in December of 2017.
My Wife.PNG

And Twitch Con 2017 was in late October.
IF the minor really existed. How on earth could a teenage.... (15 year old?) girl resist commenting that Dr. Disrespect hit her up too in one of these conversations. Probably on a reddit thread.

If this girl really exists, I would not be shocked if a really dedicated sleuth might be able to dig something up. Maybe she didn't identify herself as a minor. But if she said she got hit up by Dr. Disrespect, there may be enough information on her account to figure out who she is and what her age was.

What I don't understand is if he didn't know her age why doesn't he just mention that? I get the feeling he knew
I think the guys smart enough (if he's "innocent") to realize that the machines revved up and there's no choice other than to take it on the chin. "I didn't know" is the bog standard defense for ANYONE in this situation and it's still the adults responsibility to make sure, and until we know for certain, there's no reason to be convinced.

If you want another example, Vaush's retarded "short stack" argument works the same way. I've done enough figure drawing to take one look at his "short stacks" and see an obese female adult with the head of a toddler beyond all human proportion, but I don't know what part Vaush is being drawn to so the best thing he can do is accept the damage. It's the kind of talk for a psychologist or an art critic. Not an internet shitstorm. I don't blame the guy for trying to walk it off instead of going "just trust me bro I swear I'm not grooming ahahaha"

@h2_jGX Yes I'm absolutely going to get out my broom and sweep up for this. Several reasons:

1. This bit of gossip is OLD. Several years old. He's already apologized for it and it's even been resolved in court. His wife stayed.

2. It wasn't illegal. He wasn't charged and it sounds like a nothingburger. They must not be that young or it would've been brought with charges. It wasn't. Is it still inappropriate (at best) for a grown man to message a minor on any platform? Absolutely. Should he be shunned and exiled for it? No.

3. I'm not going to get into pedophilia vs ephebophilia but they are 2 different things. 17 year olds are a lot different than 13 year olds and behave differently online. Don't throw words around that are much worse simply because you don't like the guy. A 35 yo being attracted to a 17 yo is much different than a 35yo being attracted to a 13 yo.

4. We've known he disrespected his marriage for years at this point. We all know it's a shit thing to do. Does it really matter if the girl he was flirting with was 17 vs 25? Did you guys really assume this was a woman close to his age he was cheating with? I'd assumed it was some (or multiple) egirls. This shouldn't be a shocker.

5. There's 0 other accusations of him behaving this way. A one off does not constitute being called a "pedophile". Words have meaning and diluting them only services the people who actually are peeds.

It's just like, if we cancelled every dude celeb who's ever been a little sus with young women then we'd have no males in entertainment at all. Maybe that's blackpill talk but moids are gonna moid the second they get big. I'm disappointed but not at all surprised.

Christ no. I'm just saying there's a difference between making inappropriate comments in a conversation involving a minor versus making actual sexual advances to a minor. Neither one is good, but one is an actual crime.

Dude, with all due respect, this is going into the quantum realm of hairsplitting. It doesn't matter whether he committed a crime; he shouldn't have had any inappropriate comments with a minor to begin with.
