Vivek Ramaswamy and J.D. Vance are both interesting figures as both started out as public critics of Trump before changing their tunes years after he got into office. Ramaswamy used DEI initiatives in the past (just a couple years ago) and then went on to criticize them while running for president meanwhile Vance has links with Peter Thiel and previous worked for him.My problem with Burgum is every time I see his name my mind reads it as "Bugman."
My take on Vivek is he seems totally assimilated, and an enthusiastic Patriot, and is all in on the Trump train. If there is anyone who is a potential actual successor who will continue the MAGA legacy and not just go RINO after Trump is out of office, it's him.
My fear is that while he's an incredibly dynamic speaker, so was Obama, who turned out to be an empty suit that did actual damage.
In March, Sen. J.D. Vance tweeted, "I have a long memory. If you’re fighting Trump and his endorsed political candidates today, don’t ask for my help in a year with your projects."
I have a long memory, too, Senator.
I remember, in 2016, Vance offering sharp criticism of Trump during his press tour for Hillbilly Elegy, a memoir that, as one Appalachian critic bluntly put it, primarily argues "poor people suffer because they don’t know any better."
I remember an August 2016 interview with Vance on Kentucky radio host Matt Jones’ podcast, where Vance told Jones, "I agree with you on Trump because I don’t think he’s the person. I don’t think he actually cares about folks."
I remember Vance’s appearance on ABC’s Powerhouse Roundtable, where he dismissed then-candidate Trump as someone who "doesn’t offer many solutions."
I even remember Vance telling NPR he’d consider voting Democrat before voting for Trump, joking, "I think there’s a chance, if I feel like Trump has a really good chance of winning, that I might have to hold my nose and vote for Hillary Clinton.
When Trump told voters Vance was "kissing my a--" during his Senate bid, Vance neither protested nor stood up from himself. In fact, he worked even harder to win Trump's approval. Vance has been a busy Trump surrogate on national talk shows and even joined Trump's entourage in the New York courtroom for the former president's hush money trial. Vance has vigorously defended Trump even after his conviction on 34 felony counts while bashing the justice system.
Trump was banned from Twitter and Facebook days after the January 6 riot for inciting violence on the platforms. Ramaswamy criticized the tech giants’ move in a Wall Street Journal opinion piece as a violation of free speech, but he also had some choice words for Trump himself. Ramaswamy described the riot as “disgraceful” and called Trump’s actions “egregious” and “downright abhorrent” on Twitter.
But now that he is running against Trump for president, Ramaswamy is confusingly and aggressively refusing to address his comments. When MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan pressed him about the criticisms Wednesday night, Ramaswamy did everything he could to avoid actually answering the question.
Hasan asked Ramaswamy to explain his comments several more times, but Ramaswamy never gave a straight answer. Instead, he kept saying what he would have done on January 6.
Neil Armstrong was from Ohio. We were the first people in the sky AND the moon. There's just something about living in Ohio that makes visionaries and principled, disciplined men. We've got low lows but very high highs.Doesn't Ohio also have a disproportionate number of Astronauts?
People these days forget that before the collapse of US auto and steel manufacturing, Ohio was a crown jewel of the nation. Some of the world's richest robber barons lived there.Ohioans are very presidential, look it up, you'd be shocked how many presidents came from Ohio. I know the memes gave us a bad rap but to love Ohio is to love the United States. Trump would do very well to bring Vance along with him.
There is a difference between a pajeet and an American who is brown. Vivek was born here, spent his life here, made his money here. He is an American.Never trust a Pajeet, Vivek is just wearing whatever skin he thinks will get him to the great Apple Gift Card in the capital.
I would like to deny this, but i know someone was gonna make this jokeThat's bait. You want me to say journalists aren't people.
Jeets don't naturalise. There is a difference between a pajeet and an American who is brown. Vivek was born here, spent his life here, made his money here. He is an American.
Or maybe there's something about Ohio that makes you want to leave so badly that you physically remove yourself from the fucking Earth.Neil Armstrong was from Ohio. We were the first people in the sky AND the moon. There's just something about living in Ohio that makes visionaries and principled, disciplined men. We've got low lows but very high highs.
Ohio is only really good for Presidents, Astronauts, and votes. It also is home to rock and roll. At least where Alan Freed coined the term for the genre. and the RNRHOF.Ohioans are very presidential, look it up, you'd be shocked how many presidents came from Ohio. I know the memes gave us a bad rap but to love Ohio is to love the United States. Trump would do very well to bring Vance along with him.
And chili. And college football. And crank.Ohio is only really good for Presidents, Astronauts, and votes. It also is home to rock and roll. At least where Alan Freed coined the term for the genre. and the RNRHOF.
That's a conspiracy theory. Don't think about. Don't go to space you.Doesn't Ohio also have a disproportionate number of Astronauts?
"Your honor the plaintiff has no standing as he's still alive and the detailed plans found in my house for his assassination are only things that 'could' happen"By that logic then Attempted Murder is no crime at all!
And further, the logic presumes that they will still be in authority and uncompromised after the fact. When the crimes are ones that threaten actual electoral process or freedom of speech - i.e. actual subversions of power, then assuming you can punish them retroactively is not a safe assumption.
Hawley's too young, and is defending his seat this year.Maybe Hawley? But he keeps embarrassing himself kissing up to the party establishment that I'm not sure he wouldn't be another knife in the back.
He's like 40-something, that was primo Veep age before the baby boomers absolutely refused to hand over power and we got governed by geriatrics.Hawley's too young, and is defending his seat this year.
When I think of Ted Cruz I think of the most bland boring dinner you've ever eaten that's been sitting out for a little bit too long. Pass. How people can look past that uncanny grimace he's always making and still vote for him I'll never knowProblem is there really aren't any good candidates outside of him. Maybe Hawley? But he keeps embarrassing himself kissing up to the party establishment that I'm not sure he wouldn't be another knife in the back. Rubio's a non-starter, so is Cruz.
Disagree.People these days forget that before the collapse of US auto and steel manufacturing, Ohio was a crown jewel of the nation. Some of the world's richest robber barons lived there.
