Yes, you see, when you're dealing with a very powerful person with a very open secret, you can't just make an announcement: "Hey this guy likes fucking kids or getting evidence of powerful Americans fucking kids for his masters in Israel." You do so discreetly. There are LOTS of examples of this in every industry that only make sense in hindsight.

I disagree with the analogy because your drug dealer has a different motivation - he wants to get money from you. Epstein wanted to get leverage (on behalf of his Mossad handler Maxwell). Can be quite planned out as well. Even if someone hates Trump, if they were at all on the fence or unsure about Biden they are now -damn- sure about Biden. And For people who wanted to see if Trump was as bad as claimed... it really is a golden sunshine halo for him. He looked presidential while also giving better than he got and never descending into open namecalling... like Biden did.

The result of this debate will be an absolutely driven down voter Turnout for Biden. I don't think Trump will really -gain- too much support, but just Biden losing support will drive up Trump's numbers. I'd expect to see a sizeable bump in third party numbers too.

My expectations were so low that when Biden opened with quick pace of speech and coherent sentences, I considered him to be doing well.
