Spacebattles, and its offshoots - Who would win? A bunch of autistic nerds or a site and its tranny jannies?

Yeah powerscaling is retarded like that. The way it works is that people will have a favorite character who they will want to wank (powerscaling term for scaling character way too high) and they will take an obviously exxaggerated statement made by another character, make long ass scaling chains (as in, character A fought character B who once took a punch from Character C and character C said that character D is a worthy opponent and so on and so forth) and manage to scale it back to their favorite character. Or they will simply use outliers that are obviously comedic in nature (like this whole spongebob multi solar system thing is probably from the episode where he unwrapped the universe with a string from his shirt) to say that the character is always this strong. But that's nowhere near the worst of powerscaling, the worst is definitely the "higher infinites" and "outerversal" and "platonic concepts" BS.

The worst in SpaceBattles is the illiterate ESL chuuniggers shitting up threads with characters from My Shitty Pedoincest Web Novel About JRPG Shit No One Cares About, which only has machine translated chapters but my uncle at Japanentendo told me everyone in them can totally destroy all the supraversal everything in the last chapter.

Or the RWBY threads.

Or the Worm threads.

So many fucking Worm threads. The fuck even is a Worm? Why is THAT story so overly popular? I haven't even heard a single person ever explain what it even is about and the little I got was something about superheroes/parahumans but nothing actually explaining WHY it is popular or what it did to get such a large following. I read the first chapter to try and get some inkling but it did nothing to hook me in as my eyes glanced over a pretty stereotypical "nerd/loser bullied in high school who has aspirations" which gave me no hooks or a inkling of why this story would be popular.

I read Worm. It's shit. It's about a bunch of shit SBs love like mildly woke garbage, pretend logic to make them feel smart and whatnot. The author also courted SB by doing a quest thread there and then rage-quitting when they were exposing him as a fraud by making his retarded universe less grimderp.

Lmao really? I haven't read it but isn't it something of a trope on Worm that people deconstruct and try and be realistic about superheroes and superpowers or am I mistaken? Because if that is the case people pulling a fast would would be quite literally what is expected. But apparently the dude threw a fit?

Can we get some more context and explanation? It might explain why there is so much Worm but apparently not much with the sequels of it.

Please do post any examples of their autism or drama, it would help greatly.

Also, information on SV's dramas is something I probably need to look for, I got their "court", but that is about it.
Most of what I have is pre-Smartphone and social media bringing normies into the internet, so a lot of SB's drama revolves around autistic slap fights. When I stopped posting, I believe CoolGuy was the admin and he was mostly fair and even handed. Mostly, most of the admin staff at the time let a poster named Xort (Pronounced exhort, not Zort, he'd whine in voice chats if you got it wrong) basically be SB's version of HHH, just pretending to be a Brown Shirt instead of a retired wrestler. He'd do the same thing though, find threads with reasonable discussions and troll them until it devolved. The other thread mentioned it, but there was Fuzzy Modem and the time he broke his dick fucking his then wife. More specifically, he caught his foreskin on her panties, tore his frenulum, and argued about going to a doctor and getting it checked out.

I was well thought of by some of the mod staff, so I got included in BigSteve's circle of fanfic writers, which included the real source of forum drama, posters from alt.startrek.vs.starwars a.k.a. ASVS and StarDestroyer.Net, a similar forum run by an autistic absolutely massive asshole Chinese-Canadian named Michael Wong, who ran the forum like a Stalin-wannabe until his own admin staff mutinied and forced him to stop getting involved in bans and the like. SD.Net did have actual influence, there's a series of Star Wars books, the Incredible Cross Sections series, the Attack of the Clones ones included power numbers for turbolasers based off of Wong's calculations. He'd gotten the attention of the author, Curtis Saxton. If any of you are familiar with Sci-Fi Debris, Chuck was an ASVSer. It was an interesting group of engineers and mathematics autists who liked to run energy calcs on Sci-Fi weapons for fun, and shit post.

I've also been in AIM chats with Stuart Slade, an alt-history author who turned out to be a bit of a lolcow. One of the fanfic writer's circle, CountessMarina/CommanderThelea, some how pulled him in. Now Marina's an interesting case, one of the few trannies I've run into who I think had legit dysmorphia, not an AGP. Ethnic Russian, grandfather was a White that came over after the Civil War, nuts but in an eccentric and entertaining way. Keep in mind this was the early aughts, trans shit was barely a blip on anyone's radar. Only troon I have any kind of respect for, gay married another MtF. May be running a nuclear reactor somewhere.

My fucking Lord. Usenet groups? How far back does this shit go?
ASVS was the oldest one. Mostly STEM types who enjoyed shitposting and crunching the amount of energy you'd need to vaporize asteroids. They were an interesting bunch, most of whom were less spergy than you'd imagine, just highly intelligent people. Chuck from SciFi Debris was one. Marina was from there, MKSheppard was another poster who crossed ASVS, SB.com, and SD.net. Shep is good people, mostly deaf, spergy but his focus was research. He was like a bloodhound chasing even the most obscure information down.

Most of them ended up at StarDestroyer.net, thought SB.com was a pack of Trekkie retards, which wasn't far from the truth. They made up the core of Wong's admin staff and were the people who turned on him when Wong started purging anyone who disagreed with him from SD.Net. I'd chatted with Wong once or twice, he could be alright for a bit, but he's best described as a power mad fedora lord. Hated religious people with vehemence that I think came from his wife's religious parents not liking him. He called racism, but I'm pretty sure it was just because he could be a raging asshole. Bragged once about how he only needed five minutes, at most, to satisfy his wife in bed. Seemed like an odd thing to brag about.

I recall there's an entire autistic mess of a book series called Suggsverse that was one of these powerscaling autists having enough for being bullied on some naruto forum so he decided to make the most op universe imaginable. Apparently had omnipotent gods as mooks.

I can answer that. Worm is a grimderp story about one Taylor Anne Hebert and how she gets trauma based super powers from a member of a race of alien supercomputer space whales and how she keeps escalating, making shit worse, and eventually saves the world at the cost of dying at the end because some bitch in a fedora who’s power is win button but as a step by step guide shoots her in the head.

It’s shit and its sequel Ward is even worse. So bad in fact that there are a plenty of people out there that prefer to pretend it does not exist.

the ultimate proof autism does not make you intelligent
Not enough fuckfic on spacebatttles, and its spinoffs are unnavigable.

I hate Mass Effect fic as written by mormons, it's so fucking lame.

Just slap a fucking TV-14 sticker on the site already.
They are allergic to sex. I don't know how and I don't know why. It's a site rule. Because apparently you can have people torture and kill each other but you can't show sex, which is one of the most schizoshit things of the modern world.

There actually is quite a history regarding this on SB. The site used to be a LOT more lax when it came to smut, CrW I am told being filled with it, alongside NSFW quests. I got posts of admins complaining about it.
There have been more than one purge of CrW, resulting in migration to QQ by a lot of the banned.

Here's Kier Darby, (former owner of the site) whining about people posting smut:

It's in the fanfiction sweet spot of having an interesting setting and worldbuilding, memorable characters, and then the plot goes off the rails, which makes fanfic authors think "I could do it better". It's the same with Harry Potter. It got like half a million fanfics because people loved the setting and the premise but hated how it went from books 4-5 onwards. There is also a self-reinforcing effect where people who write fan works for clout just hop on whatever is popular.

I read it a while ago and the start is pretty good, but the quality declines towards the end and Ward is just completely awful wasted potential.

Just Dark souls back dash Sagittarius A right before you hit the Event horizon and you should be good

Unfortunately he's in the big pasture in the sky, he died in 2020 from the 'coof. Here's my post talking about it:
Actually the author, Stuart Slade, was writing the third part after finishing his The Big One series, (USA carpet nukes Germany, immortal beings guide the USA through shit presidents and McNamara, same writing style as the Salvation War) unfortunately the 'Rona got him in December 2020, (Obituary) (forum post id'ing that this is him), I liked his work but then I read a lot of shit so YMMV. Also was the cause of a lot of drama on the internets for being a hard right wing boomer on the internet, and more American than most Americans.

RIP you Irascible Bastard

Worm is popular because of waifu fics.

WORM is about a nerd who gets dunked in shit, freaks out and gains bug control powers, eventually becoming god of the universe. Then she gets her arm ripped off and is shot in the head.

Everyone who gets powers are trauma triggered, and people talk like a fucking seminar pamphlet. You have to give enthusiastic consent for the person with healing powers to heal you.

Everyone in the setting is a massive asshole. And their powers make them fight.

Another reason people write worm fics is the autistic "ratings" each power type gets.

It is so up spacebattles ass that most fanfics dip into forum posting. That's not a joke. They call it PHO instead of SB, but obvious knockoff is obvious.

I always want a fic where someone fucks up bagrat, he's a prick, and not even an actual person.

WORM is not an actual comic book, it calls itself a web serial. Essentially, it's a fanfic without a parent universe.

If we're gonna talk about powerscaling then I might as well drop this gem:

This naturally makes Powerscalers butthurt.

The latter guy is a bit of a sperg, talking about "Anti-Powerscalers" in the same way a butthurt Furry whines about "Anti-Furries".

Though people do call him out for being a complete sperg.

Suggsverse should 100% have a thread. Or well the creator of suggsverse. Basically he had some anime verse that he was a fan of and he wanked it to insane levels, got laughed at for it, and then decided to make a verse that would win any powerscaling debate ever. The majority of the books is basically like "And then he destroyed an omega-deep transfinite amount of infinite multiverses in a fraction of a planck time" with very few writing inbetween.

Honestly I read Worm and kind of liked the fight scenes (also the character Coil is really fucking cool) but the rest of the story was so gay and there were so many wokism that I stopped. It just feels like it takes itself too seriously you know. No idea what everyone there sees in it.
