Have a nother set of said stories that a popular on SoFurry. Dragon in the Dungeon seriesThis is the author of The Persistent Dragon, an extremely sexual story depicting human/dragon intercourse. It has multiple chapters, most of which are ranked very highly on SoFurry's "all time" popularity chart. SoFurry is over 12 years old. He's been commissioned by and/or received artwork from Narse and Tojo, people who are otherwise involved heavily with Bad Dragon.

Making money off patreon is almost impossible unless you are able to :
1) Make front-page of DA quality work at least once a week, and already have a massive backing
or
2) Churn out art like a machine until you are popular enough that your shit gets pushed to the front page by sheer viewership and exposure regardless of the quality of what you make
3) Find a niche market to cater to
Fenoxo makes 15k a month to make a text based porn game, Naylor isn't shit.

All that dropped in my FurAffinity alerts today was someone drawing a picture of their fursona with a frown, so not nearly as bad as I expected.
The only ones that are really sperging out about it seem to mostly be on twitter, and well, you don't need help to find those.

This is true, unfortunately. Especially the part about already having a large audience. DoU only brings in about $25 per month (for which I am eternally grateful), although I honestly feel its Patron value should, by all reasonable measurements, be more than that. Comparative to other graphic novels (not even furry ones), it really should be at least a $200 per month comic. The lols that some people take from the comic alone should be worth at least that much.

As big as a fan of I am of you and your work (I really am), I think therein your trouble lies with the fact that your comic challenges people. Furries as Jim Crow is something that I honestly believe no or few other people could have pulled off with as much grace and tact as you have, in your genuine attempt to tell an interesting story to other people.
People don't like being challenged, especially furries, so you ostracize a good number of us. And on the other hand, more-normal people see it as a cheap source of entertainment but otherwise bemusing after the first couple of pages, which equates to a similar bounce rate as the people who would be the most inclined to enjoy your comic.
People just want what they are familiar and comfortable with. People like Jay Naylor whose work is so blaisé and vanilla that it is bound to appeal to the lowest common denominator of furries. You're making real art dude, not just fluffy bullshit to cater to people for internet asspats. And while most people don't and won't notice the significance of your work on Utopia, I can tell you that it has personally impacted me the the best ways. You're awesome, dude. I don't think you hear that enough about yourself.

I think we've talked about 2gryphon in this thread before, so I'll just go over the basics here. 2 is a "comedian" in the fandom who, on top of just not being funny with his forced fandom "humor", continues to anger social justice types on Twitter by trying to be extremely edgy.
2 has enjoyed a prime time spot at Anthrocon, and is good friends with Uncle Kage, Anthrocon's chairman. There have been rumors that Anthrocon actually pays him for hisperformances, or at least comps his travel and lodging. Kage has vigorously protected 2 in the past, and has also organized fundraisers to get 2 to other conventions that 2 couldn't afford.
4 years ago, 2 posted a FurAffinity journal that explained how the home of he and his boyfriend, Toast the Rabbit, had been raided by federal authorities in relation to child pornography. 2 never gave any reason as to why this happened and played it off like the feds made some terrible mistake.
A few months ago, Toast disappeared off the face of the earth. Not long after, 2 publicly came out in the middle of a YouTube stream to say that Toast (who he broke up with earlier this year) had been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography and is in a federal prison awaiting trial. 2 explains that Toast, 4 years ago, was looking for "shocking" content online and downloaded a"big zip file" from a "seedy porn site" that included child pornography, and that he deleted it immediately.
During the same time period Toast was arrested, Colorado Springs police (where they live) were conducting an operation that arrested 40 "offenders who possess, manufacture and distribute child pornography; engage in online enticement of children for sexual purposes; engage in the commercial sexual exploitation of children (commonly referred to as child prostitution); and engage in child sex tourism (traveling abroad for the purpose of sexually abusing foreign children)."
I don't believe for a minute that Toast's accidental download is what got him thrown in prison. I suspect that there was more going on here, which begs some questions. Who knew what? The person who shared this with me floated the idea of a "Jerry Sandusky scenario" where 2 and Kage were aware of what the raid was actually about, but ignored it. I don't know if Toast had gone to Anthrocon since 2012, but he has gone to other cons, and even served on the board for Antheria, 2's failed "Vanity Con".
There are rumors circulating that Anthrocon will no longer give 2 his Main Event status, but there have been no official indication that is the case.
If 2 knew what was going on, he should be immediately barred from performing at any con, and if Kage knew? Buckle up folks, that's when things could get interesting.
