That was some farmer's pet cow, which he/she clearly did not wish to kill so she got sent to a sanctuary. You do not keep a cow that old for production. The average factory farm cow is lucky to live past 5, on a small farm they can go well into 15-16, but usually that's when inherent health issues start showing up and they have to be culled for one reason or another. If someone keeps a cow until she's 19 (which is basically at the very end of her natural lifespan), they clearly loved that cow very much. I've had a couple like that, sometimes I wonder if big house was not more merciful, a natural death for a large animal like that is neither peaceful nor serene.
Then there was another video of this 4-5 year old steer, clearly well fed, groomed taken care of. You don't keep them for that long if they're for meat, he has no balls so he was not for breeding, this was very clearly a pet. He was given to you. They go and cut the tag out of his ear and act like it's this great moment of liberation, as if the farmers tag their cattle for sick amusement, not because the government demands it, or for the sheer reason that if you have 10 pure white cows, you're not gonna be able to tell them apart.
I really really like the idea of animal sanctuaries, but holy shit, so many seem to be run by the most two-faced vegans you can imagine.

I wouldn't put this on the same level as actual fake rescue, where they clearly hurt the animal and then pretend to rescue it, those people are genuinely evil.
This is just the smarmy cunts running sanctuaries being completely dishonest because "poor old girl rescued from dairy farm" brings in way more clicks than "farmer gave us his elderly cow because she'd have a shit time in the herd". Working on a 64bit program that runs on Windows 95 - Windows 11.

I've completed three previous that all do about the same thing, using the same methods. Only this time, I get a runtime error 216 at address 00002e48. Google says I have a trojan- my personal belief is there's some difference in what I did that I'm not remembering, and it's tripping that error erroneously.

I did not expect to get a specific solution for such a specific address, but can anyone tell me what the fuck is the point of the Microsoft help forums when EVERY SINGLE solution has been some version of:

"Did you run your antivirus? Make sure to run AVAST because that is a virus."

"can you dump a gigantic log of information no one will actually read or understand?"

"Contact the publisher of the software, they should have a solution in place."

I just fixed it. The DLL was too new and I needed to use an older version. That's it. Literally a basic compatibility issue. I fucking hate all tech people so goddamn much. I say this as a "tech guy", that all of these solutions are so irrelevant and midwitted I would prefer to see empty threads with no replies.

SERIOUSLY, if you are having a computer/program issue, DO NOT go looking for help, because they're going to put you entirely on the wrong path. These people are all illiterate. Never look anything up. You are your own island on this type of issue.

To add on my frustration- computers are simpler than they used to be. I have never seen an issue solved with the log dump philosophy wherein someone points out a registry value is off, or pick out how line #292 is tripping the error. It's almost always a simple answer at this point. A restart solves 90% of issues and the other 10% is user error like today. Don't listen to these alien freaks asking for log dumps or saying "update ur antivirus". It's a GRIFT.

I don't know exactly where the term came from, but computer programs were already often called "Applications" before the advent of the iPhone. I think it might actually have been Mac OS that used Applications for all its user-focused programs, actually.

Every fucking job assignment is like this now. Whether I'm staying at a resort hotel or some fleabag shit motel on the side of the highway, it's the same experience in the US...and Canada. Traveling in Canada is the same God awful experience.

I agree with this completely. They no longer clean your room by default and you have to specially request it. I now make sure the negress or the lah-TEEN-a behind the desk actually enters it into their system. Why? Whenever they say “yeah, we’ll take care of it,” they never actually do. So I just have to politely say “can you please enter it into the system? The last time I requested this, it didn’t happen.” Then they sigh, roll their eyes, and lethargically type it into the system. But that’s the only way it gets done.

Laundry is also a crapshoot as to whether it works or not. If I’m staying beyond a couple days, the first thing I find out is if the washer and dryer is a worth a shit. I once had a four star hotel tell me to bring my own roll of quarters in because that’s all they take and they just recently decided to no longer exchange money for quarters. Since I get reimbursed by my employer a lot of times I’ll just get my clothes dry cleaned. Less of a hassle.

Customer service continually gets worse. I’ve stayed in places while the pandemic was raging and I think it’s just that service jobs are going to shit because they’re staffed by the shittiest people around. The only huwhite person I see there are crotchety old ladies or some chick with face and neck tattoos. These are three and four star establishments.

When I last moved, I chose someplace with mild temperatures. And that is true, today's high is 65F.

The problem is the sunny side of the house has minimal insulation so if the sun comes out it heats rapidly.

Usually this isn't a problem, open the windows and the breeze cools it off inside pretty well.

The problem is today.... THERE IS NO BREEZE. For about 3 hours the wind peaked at 3 MPH, now it's back to 0. I've had to resort to a fan to get some air movement. I could turn on the A/C but that seems dumb when it's plenty cool I just need to get the cool air inside.

The reason is simple but with multiple factors:

1. Despite stereotypes and highly visible outliers, men are less likely to resort to violence. If they do, they'll cause more damage. Women are likely to resort to violence quicker (in part because of what you said) , but it's typically not as damaging.
2. Men are unlikely to report being victims of domestic violence to the authorities, and if they do, they're likely not to be taken seriously and not be counted on records, unless they've suffered serious, visible, and evident damage. Sometimes, not even then.
3. Women are much more likely to report being victims of domestic violence to the authorities, and they're almost guaranteed to be taken seriously, so it will go on record.

And that's how you get faggots with the lowest recorded DV, and dykes with the highest.

Hah, I was actually on the Roku support site this morning, and saw some funny comments. Saw in a couple of different threads where people were blasting the so-called "experts", basically telling them to stop spam replying, and give a fucking solution. And what grinds my gears today...having to go to said website because of an "Insufficient Power" notification on my Roku player homepage. I did manage to get it fixed, but how the fuck does a device get insufficient power, when plugged into an outlet?!
