I just want to point out that conspiracies and other farfetched explanations appeal to stupid people because it makes them feel smart (especially over the rubes who are falling for the "standard line") but they aren't smart enough to identify why they're stupider explanations than more common ones. To pick one I saw from Jackie adjacent BlueAnon recently, that Biden was poisoned, hit by multiple Russian magical weapons and manipulated by the far-right CNN moderators to explain his bad debate along with talk that all the hubbub since about replacing him is an extensive Russian plot that the NYT, BernieBros and the rest of the media is part of in order to re-install Trump. Or, maybe he's an old dude who had a bad night and people are being opportunistic.
