I hope my 'Murican brethren had a good 'Murica day today, and my non-murican brethren had a good day anyways.

I don't feel like Nick ever meant to make any kind of career out of being a lawyer. He lacks any and all discipline and work ethic, so putting any kind of serious effort, research, and work into a legal case is out of the question. He can't even do it today, with multiple failed attempts as proof, and that's the easy stuff.

If he went to some trash tier law school, got licensed to practice law, and looked real enough to get potential clients to start calling him about their legal issues, it would all immediately fall apart once he has to start putting actual work in. Work he is woefully unqualified to do. Word would travel fast that he is an incompetent fake lawyer, especially in his little town.

As for why he did all this, I think it's just so he can say he's a lawyer. He's not a lawyer. He's a frontline customer service representative. No disrespect to those people. It's honest work, but I bet they don't go around larping as an attorney when they clearly lack the qualifications to do any kind of legal work.

I wonder if it's settling in for Nick just how much he fucked up with that Pillstream interview. He gave up a world of a happy family and tons of easy money so that he could spend his time with the likes of Ethan Ralph drugged out of his mind, Juju the Cow or Vito the Pedo. This is now his only sphere of influence, may he enjoy irrelevancy.

I'm still thinking he might just straight up bail and flee the country like the hog, if for no other reason than to get in on the cheap drugs and alcohol.

My best guess (which I'm sure has already been echoed throughout the many, MANY pages of this thread) is that he needed to keep up the appearance of being an upstanding trad-dad, not just to the internet but to his local community. Only problem for Nick is that he's not nearly as clever as he thinks he is, and I'm sure that his local community saw through his ploy soon enough.

They say that the best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. Look at his previous work history, and it shows a person who would never be able to make it as a street sweeper much less something like a lawyer. He sure knew how to flush his parents' money down the toilet, that's for sure...

Test drive theory has some weight… if you’re selected the state gives you parenting classes and you can ease into it as a respite carer for other foster families (ie you take the foster kid for the weekend or something.) also the state pays you for it, which could have been good pocket money for them during nicks law school days.

Was a stay at home dad, before the coke, which I reckon was the precursor for the sex craze and his downfall. Would be fun to know who fixed him the first time tho, I doubt someone would just skip Adderall and go straight for coke for focusing. Coke is a party drug.
