Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Who could sue evs? Mattel? Or the original parody? And evs's plan to circumvent a lawsuit is trying to monetize the parody first for defacto bragging rights to the ip?

Shanes meltdown
Striking channels is fucking gay, however his 3 hour cope / rant is epic shane. When some one is this pissed off for 3 hours you get to see allot about there mindset

Rumble Royal Shane
Shanes Epic 4th of July Stream raw
Thanks, mein streaming host.

I haven’t seen a CG stream since February this year; I forgot how fucking stupid Shane’s 5 minute screeching intro was.

Wrt the stream itself, this is the most animated I’ve seen Shane since he found that random Asian slut during the ‘Sheer Davis’ debacle.

Nice also to hear that he forsook his daughter’s trip to a firework display just to bitch about his collapsed YouTube channel.

EDIT: from 26:10 onwards is where Shane really gets irate redneck.

“You draw like your ass is holding the pencil”

EDIT2: guys you’ve got to listen to this stream. Shane has truly lost it.

34:40 approx: “Don’t false flag me like a fucking bitch, come at me like a man on Twitter”

I'm loving the pure originality on display here! Thanos Flash needs to collect Griftinfinity Stones!

I guess we can blame Saban's marketing team for pounding it so thoroughly into the frontal lobes of Westerners that only 1 trademarked group can wear a helmet and spandex---yet the entirety of American comics requires blatant and loud IP theft to survive and stay relevant.

Oh well, so much unique and thrilling stories to be told about a cowboy, or an adventuerer, or maybe---and this is pretty far out there---a detective. Oooo, haven't ever seen that you know. Maybe he can wear a fedora, and something unheard of, like a biege trench coat. Oh! ---and carry a revolver! That'll raise the stakes! Only 6 shots you know. Very manly.

If we're going to insist on total originality, we must accept that it will be unrecognizable to the human eye. That may not even be a shape we as humans can even see. Maybe a 4th dimensional concept.

But until then, there are 7 human stories. We put spins on them and combine them; but there's only 7.
Maybe when this mythologicaltotal and absolute original comic makes itself known, we can change that to 8.

He needed to keep his "brand" so he literally went with a yellow-purple Zoom ripoff. I don't dislike the guy, but I feel this is a misstep. He could have grifted more creatively. To start, nothing yellow or flash-related. As it stands, this character looks like yellow trash at first glance, but we'll see if he can write/plot/etc. He'll be working uphill though because let's face it, "yellowflash" is lazy and derivative and probably only meant to get his foot in the door of comic book commentary. He should have thought this out more either at the beginning of the channel or right now before he's locked in. He has a choice: go with brand recognition that he can't fully capitalize on anyway, or do something that is truly his own statement.

Here's another idea: just stick to commentary because that's what he actually does and is known for! Don't waste another decent artist on a bad concept.

Reenie did the colors herself on the art you're referring to. The visor is clearly chrome in the art that Dillard has posted. Yellow and purple are a dynamic color contrast. That's my guess. From what little Dillard has posted and what Yellowflash has posted it looks like a super sentai inspired Egyptian aesthetic hero. He's got a scarf like Viewtiful Joe. Seems like it's set in WW2. So some Egyptian spirit comes to life to defend Egypt from Rommel?

From what's publicly available, this doesn't appear to have anything to do with his Youtube career. It honestly looks like some kind of Egyptian WW2 story. It's tough to say without all of the pieces out in the open. Maybe he'll start advertising it soon, so that'll probably fill the gaps.

i don't see where the optimism is coming from for him to make a good story. the guy has a room temperature I.Q. he doesn't even write his videos, All he does is make clickbait about whatever the newest goyslop is and restate in a rambling manner what 20 other commentators have already said while adding basically nothing of value.

the only thing he has going for him is he has a good artist and EVS hates him.

yes, marvel and DC make lazy, terrible rip-offs of each other's characters and nobody really cares about 90% of them because they're usually terrible.

One of those lazy, terrible rip-offs is expected to make $165Million on his 3rd movie---with another lazy, terrible rip-off as his costar.

Somehow I doubt Deathstroke & Timberwolf will bring the same hype as Deadpool & Wolverine.

Using blatant ripoffs of trademarked characters as an online persona is a dead giveaway that they're not brimming with creativity.

This looks ok, I get more Art Deco style vibes than Power Rangers. The problem is, these examples are from a year ago and this is still a year or more away from getting in people's hands. I don't give a shit about waiting for crowdfunding garbage. We can all go buy a comic book today if we want. Or read one for free if you're broke.

Can something be oversimplified and convoluted at the same time? This post yes. Yeah similar fiction exists. Some of these examples are bad, Red Tornado and Vision are both from 1939-1940 in different versions than this modern example. The big companies have been recycling their properties forever because they own them. The Supermen fan art there has some mixed and bad examples too, like Miracleman and Prime are more third generation derivatives of Captain Marvel/Shazaam. Supreme is a purposeful Superman analogue. Bizarro is a parody owned by the same company. Superheroes are just worn out there are too fucking many of them parodying, emulating, copying, inspired by, derivative. Once you are able to understand this you are probably too old or smart to enjoy consooming it, so in other words "fuck capeshit".

Listen here, @FROG especially. I come here, offering the most true and honest critique and you start making fun of my 2016 campaign, as your new stream intro.

I have had enough of your silly conduct and constant praising, of the impolite orange man. If you cross the line yet again, you might just get my fists, instead of little turtles and Jesus figures!

I know it's late and gay, but I'm just now catching up(long week). When I saw this:

Ah I see, more of an Egyptian Power Ranger with a Black Adam palette in the trod and tired WWII genre. Still lacking a real hook, though the art looks pretty good. We'll see but I'm still anticipating a flop.

Here's the thing about most homage/tribute/ripoff characters: they start out as throw away trend chasers or as an already established team of creatives having a little fun (not their first rodeo). If Spawn came out ahead of Spiderman, it would not have been the hit it was, though Spawn isn't exactly a huge active property and kinda sucks anyway.

I hope they decide not to import the speed force effects either.

yeah, they're part of the 10%. that doesn't change the fact that the other 90% looks like this.

Cap Marvel was put on serious ice until Kingdom Come brought him back which, had it not been for the lawsuit with Marvel that robbed him of his classic name, would have made me think he was an old rival they only meagerly tried to keep in circulation after DC acquired him in the largely forgotten collapse of the industry in the 60s-70s that left only Marvel and DC in its wake. There was a time that CM was far more popular than Supes until they decided to start lifting certain powers off of him like the power of flight.

But I'm overstating the importance of that because nobody really cared about this stuff. It was for kids exclusively. The benefit of these characters is that they weren't meant to be anything more than episodic formulaic capeshit entertainment. Today, it's an extremely difficult environment to get any IP started in, simply due to the fact that there are too many sophisticated adult comic nerds, too few kids who care and no solid hub of seasoned collaborators that have a reason to collaborate anymore.

If YF manages to come out with books on time and builds a following, good on him. I just need to see way more before I think it's not destined for mediocrity. Ideally, I'd like to see great books sell the best based off their quality. I don't like the brand aspect of all this, but it's tolerable if it eventually leads to something of true value. July still has a pass, but if the value continues to decline, it's best to spend a little more time on development. Not the CG development hellscape model mind you, but something that won't be seen as a flash in a pan either, pun intentional.
