as far as I know: There are jobs where you are a child, There is ERP, However I believe you cannot access the ERP panel if you are a child, and you can't open it on one. I'm pretty sure the ERP is mechanical, says you get a buff for fucking a prostitute or something weird like that.
The ERP being mechanic based is newer I think. Wasn't around when the server first started.

1) To join lifeweb, join the Discord (yes I know) for LW, apply either by voucher from 2 community members (who will be banned if you fuck up),
or pay Randy (Host/Dev) like $25 USD, OR have an account on BYOND made before 2016 (I think open join is restricted to a random month of the year now, IDK). Wiki is

2)About the kid rape stuff, there's a lot of conflation between
three incidents that floats around because it got posted to plebbit for drama points and all hell broke loose like the pedo accusations every month on that subreddit.
A) Someone posted to the now defunct forum child porn spam and site was yeeted into the void by Randy. Forums never came back and everything moved to discord. I do not recall exactly and I can not offer proof but I think it was Kuroneko (Who played Yog and hated lifeweb with a passion).
B)Randy was accused of being a pedophile by his
alleged co-dev in a video* (see below).
C) The incident stems from an older revision of the codebase back when Randy first made lifeweb an English server. The rules have been changed from then.
Basically, contrary to almost literally every other server and the relevant gestapo badmins, the old (and mostly current) lifeweb rules are that IC and OC can't mix at all, you must roleplay to a certain standard, and must not abuse exploits or hacks. That's it. There may have been a caveat for abusing the mechanic below but I don't recall.
There's also "THE PURGE" when Randy clears out bad players/inactive players every so often.
Otherwise, bans are generally handled mechanically tied to an in-game function
To try heretics (Poor RPers) and antagonists as the inquisition.. It also zeros your "karma" points from the game, which is used to play different roles, perks, and antagonists and hands you a 1 or 2 month ban.
Anyways, so there is like a trait selector. You obviously cannot have negative number. These traits and quirks are 99% of the time mechanically tied to your character's menial SANITY value. Loose to much you go insane and die.
In the earlier revision of the game, there was a quirk called pedophilia. I don't know if was integrated mechanically and I wasn't playing when this whole drama went down. Anyways, someone actually took the trait, did unspeakable things, and there was enough fuss about it that said trait was removed and the offender permabanned after moderation reversed course.
Anyways, if you want to deal with pedophiles, go to
literally any ERP server for a 100% speedrun (or any major server lmao). Citadel (Splurt is the sucessor now? IDK) had a headmin that ran the erp server that was underaged for almost a decade. The only ERP server that never got into trouble with mins trying to contribute to delinquency of minors (That I know if ) is VORE (the base code of every ERP server ever).
There's some crazy ass stories about SS13 servers I could talk about at length but it would be quite the post.
*Randy, the dev/host is an alcoholic Russian who was/is (?) a drug addict and someone claimed that Randy ripped him off and stole his code (this is a common SS13 lolcow theme, see MSO suing ASHEN SKY and Colonial Marines, Matt from Interbay. Some of the Russian SS13 devs are batshit insane (Estban from STALKER SS13 comes to mind). They aren't troons like Oranges or literally every erp server but insane none the less.
