I think it's very funny that they talk about being communitarians and against all the icky individualism of capitalism or whatever but all their communitarian thought is so liberalism-pilled and individualism-pilled that it stops at "just let people do whatever they want [as long as I approve]."It's amazing the way these people always inadvertently advocate for the exact opposite of what they're nominally trying to achieve. Homeless people are suffering? Shall we try and get them off the streets? No, let's keep them in shanty towns in the centre of our cities so they can overdose on opioids and defecate on the sidewalks in peace!
"Trans children" are receiving an inadequate standard of medical care? Shall we hold the medical profession to account? No, let's just call everyone transphobic until they shut up!
Etc, etc.
It's what makes all the memes like "dig the fucking hole" and "what role would you play on the commune" so funny because their narcissism and ignorance blinds them to the fact that centuries of socialists already thought about this stuff and realized that allowing individual exceptions will wind up collapsing the socialist system and returning capitalism. When you actually analyze their positions consistently over any kind of period of time it's clear they're very much advocating for a very centrist normie "middle way" except it's one where radical anti-social behavior is praised and anything perceived as conformity to the wrong ideals is attacked. All while the faceless masses go on producing commodities for the elite to consume. So basically the Cultural Revolution meets Dengism.
