It's a spiritual movement at this point. They're ringing bells saying the end is near and preaching that we have to engage in mass penitence that restricts our behaviors. If you bring up that no matter what the West does, Indian and Chinese pollution is the big immediate problem, and African pollution is going to be come a huge problem in the future as well, they don't care. Sure, the best thing they could do is stop buying imported crap and try to engage in self-sufficient behaviors, but that would conflict with their overwhelming desire to engage in conspicuous consumerism. God forbid they can't get their heckin' cool funko pops—instead we should all live in regulated pods and eat insects.

1- lovers are within 6 months to a year's age of each other
2- are from the exact social class
3- are from the exact same economic class
4- have the exact same social and political beliefs
If you thought evangelicals were a tad stiff and stuffy look what dating and socializing looks like in a society ruled by gender studies majors. We're like a decade away from "do you know what the seashells are for?"
