If some random guy walks up to a random group of guys and says that they've been molested as a kid, most men are either going to think the dude saying that is either crazy or attention seeking and are going to sit in silence for a few seconds trying to figure out how to proceed in this weird situation that's been thrust onto them.

If a guy's friend tells them that they've been molested as a kid there's usually some recent event that dredged up some old trauma and the usual response is something along the lines of "Jesus Christ man, I'm sorry."

This wasn't a drive-by random trauma dump. Somebody asked if such things ever happened. Don't ask questions if you don't want answers.

Then the responses were mostly incredulous, perhaps the worst being along the lines of, "that doesn't happen in Anglosphere countries because we have social workers." So more details followed.

A question was asked, an answer was given, the answer was not believed, so more details followed.

this scenario simply never happens in the real world. Men don't talk about traumatic shit with other men, period.

Any actual man knows you may as well shoot yourself in the foot with a .22 and pour a whole bottle of rubbing alcohol on it, it would be less painful

In my experience outside the internet, I never had guys trauma dump to me. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, just none of the men I know would dare say anything because it means a loss of face.

Women have been trauma dumping to me since I was a teenager when a coworker who enjoyed telling how she used cucumbers as a dildo that she got molested. Now every single woman I meet can’t wait to tell me how hard they have it, especially if they are under 35. I’ve always theorized that it’s a form of control, especially in the workplace. Lauren can’t get her shit done on time because she got roofied once in college. Emma screwed up that calculation because her ex boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend.

The ones that can’t wait to trauma dump seem to be the ones that fuck up the most or make sure that she takes Fridays off to go shopping. Younger millennial and zoomer girls can’t wait to talk to you about anything and everything. Maybe they’re just that trusting in me, who knows.

I don’t consider what isalaide said as trauma dumping; she answered a question.

That feeling is so fucking nuts too. It's happened to me a few times and I get the weird sensation of wanting to chain smoke cigarettes and I haven't smoked in ages and when I did it was only on occasions.
