LA is the only city where she, and Phoenix, can get admiration and “friends” due to her ex being a washed up druggie who was famous twenty years ago.
Her connection to Bam is her only achievement in life. She dropped out of high school and I believe she was working at some sex toy or porn store when she met Bam. She spent her prime years devoted to being Bam’s girlfriend and baby mama. The only city she can trade on that connection to any real benefit is LA, but the actual benefits are terrible. Scuzzy fame whores and hanger ons impressed by Bam are not beneficial to her, but esp not to Phoenix.
I thought Phoenix might have been her attempt to hang on to Bam, but a kid was obviously going to destroy their relationship. Bam didn’t have any interest in being a father and should not be one. He can’t even take care of himself. He just resented the burden of having a kid, he found rehab more enjoyable than fatherhood.
But Nikki knew, just like your average b-ball thot, that a kid could at least guarantee child support payments. While “appeasing and caring for a mentally ill, drug addict, celebrity” could be viable on a resume in LA, there is a lot of competition for those positions.
There was a court case trying to ascertain if they had a legal marriage. Has that been ruled on? SQ actually used that to get Bam to legally marry her just to burn Nikki. Bam’s stupidly is truly astounding.
I never got the idea that Bam’s parents liked Nikki that much. She seemed to enter the picture when Bam started his downward spiral and felt she was more harm than good. I think they started cooperating more after Phoenix was born. I’ve wondered if there is any visitation or communication between Bam’s family and Nikki since the split got nasty.
