Can't find a fucking job

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
All the backup cameras in the world won't stop you getting raped and murdered because you had a delivery in Philly and had time to park up on the curb.

But there's other threads for those looking to invest in nigger deactivation devices, so just bear it in mind. And if anyone ever wants to steal your load, be courteous to them. It's not your shit and not your job to defend it.

Dear God yes good point. Many such cases of young bucks getting their CDL only to be scammed into some horrible "rent to own" sort of affair where they make peanuts in order to allegedly some day get saddled with a 15 year old freightshaker.

I'm still a company driver 7 years in, because my autistic obsession is agriculture, not trucks. Successful owner ops can sperg on for paragraphs about all the best ways to truck. I'd even hazard a guess there's some on this forum.
oh yeah i forgot about that... most LH chicks are doing the southern US east-west long-distance runs, not metro driving in shooty-stabby cities. and if you want to work california you need separate licensing just for that bullshit state, plus you can't take your gun there... women complain about this all the time, because the don't want to be stuck in Long Beach in some shithole because hours ran out or the load isn't ready, and lose money having to hide out in a motel because it's not as safe as a truckstop in the desert

interesting enough--one oil and gas company i am not gonna name (sounds like "burton") did look into the difference between women and men on their fleet, and to their surprise the number of safety tickets with the women were a bit lower when the truck was on bobtail, while the men were still hitting more shit even with no trailer on. they chalked it down to the quality of applicants they get; with men it's "whatever you can get" and most of the women drivers showing up got into it because a friend of theirs showed them what's involved or they worked dispatch and already knew everything about trucking except the driving and wanted to switch jobs where they don't have to interact with people except on their own terms.

Just consider that you'll have to compete with hordes of jeets for the role, so be presentable, eloquent, not smelling of curry, not wearing a turban, and don't grope anyone in the waiting room.
Use your brain in the interview, their technical questions aren't so hard if you have been diligently learning and programming for fun

Since I've worked in a bunch of different languages and explained that syntax is just a Google search away, I just did all their tests in pseudocode and that was enough to get the job. As long as you understand how a computer processes synchronous code and understand how asynchronous code works you should be heads above the pajeets. A lot of the big successful boomer jobs too will try to hire American. I know for my job I'm not allowed to live outside the US and still work there

Entry level? Probably $70k/y, $130k+ with half a decade of XP if you aren't a retard and are actually capable of learning
So about the same as truck driving, but I could stay at home in my coding socks?

Yeah I'll have to investigate that. Point trucking is spend most of the day thinking about whatever I want. Not a vsry cerebrally taxing job, but a time consuming one.

Are we talking actual 40 hour weeks or is it "always on call" stuff?

Probably a bit of both if you reach that stage. I'm on call every few weekends to support if SHTF but we have a rotation for it. When I did middle office banking software though, I was the only one who was able (or who claimed to be able to do it, not sure if my coworkers were dodging the bullet but I got a $30k raise for it) to decipher 30y of pajeet code for a certain project so I was always on call, which is why I left that job for one that payed more with less on-call

HR might be staffed by inhuman goblins, but they’re inhuman goblins who can smell autism, so do your best to hide your power level.
Never let them know how smart you are or what you're capable of. Especially if your capabilities include Excel/pivot tables, they'll never leave you be.

been in this a long time, and I never could figure out why there is no pajeet shop in india with the brainpower to do shit like reverse engineer, coredump surf, even just make isolations. My guess is the pajeets that attain the powerlevel to open IDA Pro immediately leave india. The curry tastes better when cooked in a western microwave.

Ok thats a great idea and I think they like to seek out people with autism like me too. Theres one near me.
Unironically work on hiding your autistic tendencies and try to pretend to be normal in your interviews/first impressions with employers, autism might be why you are getting ghosted. During the interview/first impressions they expect people to be on their best behavior and if you are not trying to be normal at all and just act your normal autistic self, they are going to assume that that is how you act when you are trying to pretend, and you will be 10x more awkward if they hire you. Not only do managers look at your dependability and ability to do the job, they look at if they would want to work with you. Try to imagine someone with the social awareness of Chris Chan working with you, would you want to hire him even if you are short staffed? Be around him for 8 hours a day? Have him talk to customers? You only need to fool them until you get the job then you can let your autism out of the bottle.

Depending on what's available your location, consider working for the government. We give them shit for being enemies of the people, but there are roles in local government and some bigger departments where you'll be doing things that actually benefit society so it's not entirely unfulfilling.

The pay can be shit at the lower levels, depending on what you're doing, but it's almost impossible to get fired once your foot is in the door and some positions require so few qualifications they're one step above job schemes for the otherwise unemployable. If you get one of those extremely entry level positions and are in any way competent you can be promoted very quickly, and sometimes to positions that would require college degrees in the private sector.

They also tend to be much more transparent during the hiring process and notify you if you're unsuccessful.

I just had a girl assure me that a 48 inch wide (counting boxes) pallet would fit through a 36 inch wide door.

The dimensional awareness to tell 3 feet is smaller than 4 feet is like. 51st percentile in women and 97th percentile in men. It helps explain what apparently I am not the only to have observed-- that women semi drivers, while a small minority, are above average quality.
