No. No they do not. Self-harm scars and self-harm in general tends to be a cry for help. Same with suicide attempts. Failed suicides fail because the person in question didn't try hard enough, almost as if they DON'T ACTUALLY WANT TO DIE.
There's a big difference between superficial, across-the-street self-harm scars you'll see on thighs, stomachs and arms and the deep, down-the-road under-arm scars that require stitches.
