What do you find irritating about YouTubers?

Some very specific things have been really grinding my gears about Youtubers, so I'll list them here and give examples:

1) When videos shoehorn-in subtle but noticeable woke shit into the video, and makes me exit immediately. It's not crazy over the top stuff like Quinton's Trump rant or when tranny Youtubers talk about trans rights. It's when they're a lot more subtle about it:
  • I was once recommended some pop science slop in my feed, and within the first minute of the video, the narrator said something along the lines of, "When a person gets pregnant..."
  • A music-related channel I was recommended started talking about music history, and when they discussed Beethoven, they didn't use his actual portrait -- they used the modern revision of Beethoven that depicts him as black. If you recall, a few years back some fringe shitlibs and nignogs were trying to push a conspiracy theory that Mozart, Beethoven, and Shakespeare were actually black. The channel unironically used those "blackface" photos of Beethoven in the video, but didn't outright draw attention to it.
  • I was watching some random Zoomer video essay today about housing and the economy due to the pandemic, and after like 3 minutes into the video, the narrator compares Kobe Bryant's death with George Floyd's death, in the sense that they were "big, impactful and tragic moments that really upset a nation." Basically, he implied Fentanyl Floyd was a celebrity whose death was felt by many.
  • When history-related videos say "BCE/CE" in the date structure.
2) Youtubers putting unnecessary gross and scatological humor in videos. This bothers me if I'm trying to eat and watch a video at the same time.
  • It's happened more often than not that I've watched a video and it randomly cuts to the video's creator sitting on a toilet, pants around ankles. Ordinary Things did this in one of his ad reads for a mobile game: it showed him on the can taking a shit, and explaining that it's a fun game to play when you're in the bathroom.
  • Videos that use sound boards of fart noises (Camelot331 and Oompaville do this).
  • When video narrators make unnecessary gross out references to be funny: e.g., Moist Critikal does a video about [insert current thing] with a deadpan take like, "This story is so yucky. It's like a big smelly turd that I just shat out of my ass cheeks. This TikTok video stinks so bad it's like I just took the nastiest shit."
3) SunnyV2 clones.
  • Vector portrait illustration thumbnail.
  • "How this person ruined their career in one instant."
  • Epic public domain background music.
  • Motion graphics of a chart plummeting, coinciding with the "downfall" creator's SocialBlade.
  • Video ends abruptly with no outro or indication that it's over.
4) NexPo clones.
  • VHS distortion effects.
  • Long intros.
  • Zoomer-safe wording (e.g. unalive, SA, grapist).
  • Long gaps of silence in between sentences, drawing out the runtime.
5) Miscellaneous annoying shit:
  • Long, drawn-out esoteric clickbaity videos with vague names and no description or summary, so I end up sitting through like the first 10 minutes of it without having any clue what the video's plot is.
  • 3+ minute long fucking ad reads.
  • This weird modern trend of male creators having a mullet and mustache. Basically, picture how buck-broken Idubbbz currently looks. I keep seeing all of these [literally who?] channels recommended to me, featuring some faggot with the same exact mullet and mustache. I've seen at least 3 or 4 creators who look like this now.
  • When different channels keep making the same exact topics over and over again. I've seen at least a dozen videos about that fucking mysterious European song. I keep seeing videos about that "lost song found in a porno" which have the same image of a purple boombox in the thumbnail. True crime/mystery channels keep churning out videos about Brian Shaffer, Dyatlov Pass, or the fucking Zodiac Killer. Just move on already.
I'll add more later. I'm tired.

I know what types you're talking about and many of them turn out to be massive moral faggots.
I just don't get how this shit even got started in the first place. Is it a new aesthetic look that people like or is it just a new phase these people are going through?

Quoting myself here because just a moment ago I encountered a good example of this in the wild. I got recommended a Kyle Hill pop science video about the Dead Internet Theory. OK, sure, I gave it a watch. Pretty standard stuff as usual. Then a few minutes in, and he fucking interviews Taylor Lorenz -- so I quickly exited the video.

Fuck. Off.

Luckily a few people in the comments even pointed this out.

One of the things I've found irritating lately is the constant need for Youtubers to be funny in their ad reads for a sponsored bit. I've noticed the only two times I've never been fully annoyed by a couple of ad breaks are from The Why Files (AJ actually takes the time to make the bit amusing and related to whatever they're plugging) or JayzTwoCents whenever he has his basic bitch ifixit ad rolling.

Most of the time these humor attempts appear hollow and lifeless, but there's occasionally a rare instant where it's kind of amusing, and I don't immediately just forward through it.

I got a long list of shit that bothers me.

•Livestreams are a blight on internet content because all they do is enable lazy creators. If I see “live”, I just don't bother checking it out

•Any true crime YouTuber who feels the need to put their face in the thumbnail, especially when talking about a missing or deceased persons. It comes off as disrespectful more than anything to me. The focus should be on the victims, not the content creator

•As I've pointed out in another thread, I absolutely hate how normalized it is for YouTubers to go on unrelated tangents in their videos, which forces me to skip through it. Anything over 40 minutes on one subject is going to fall under this.

•If I see one more fucking video about Blair/Illuminaghtii/Triangle Bitch, I legitimately am going to lose it. As far as drama content goes, it's at the point where the cow is lactating blood instead of milk. Fucking find something else to talk about.

•AI voice over content, enough said.

This. Personally never cared for the "funny" ads since it's almost always lolsorandom type jokes. Internet Historian is a good example of this and I assume he is also the reason for why so many creators now try to do funny ads.

Censoring with ear raping beeps instead of just muting out the no no words that will get you demonetized or just not saying them in the first place
I tried to watch some faggot youtuber talk on a visual novel and literally every second sentence had a word censored with some earrape soundbyte. I hope those people have a condition where they hear that soundbyte perpetually until they die.

Parents on YouTube (and anywhere else for that matter) selling videos of their kids to a seedy audience of internet creeps, which I did not realize was such a widespread thing until I stumbled upon a prime example in the trending tab of YouTube earlier today. I occasionally check the trending page of YouTube just to get a finger on the pulse of the internet so to speak. I know, I need better hobbies. This time I had the misfortune of seeing a video like this, signal boosted by YouTube itself to the front of the trending videos section.

Never heard of this channel before, so I took a cursory glance at what kind of videos he makes. Apparently videos of his underage daughter, and only that. This channel has 25 million subscribers, suffice to say he is making bank off of it.

What sort of people are interested in this, surely it is mainly other children of her own age, right? I am not so sure judging from a glance at the comment section. Something seems off here. I can not quite put my finger on it.

Giving your children unrestricted access to the internet and teaching them nothing about protecting their own privacy and security online is horrendously irresponsible, although sadly all too commonplace. Deliberately selling videos of your underage kids to a widespread audience is something else entirely. It reminds me of child pageant shows, except online, distributed to a mass audience, and impossible to ever scrub off of the net.

Puritan as I am I report the channel, optimistically confident that YouTube will surely Do The Right Thing and prevent what is in my mind a clear cut case of child abuse. Or maybe I am out of touch, and the father and daughter are actually just having fun on the internet together making videos (and a lot of money), And That's A Good Thing.

Sorry if this is a bad fit for the thread, I needed to sperg about this somewhere and could not really find a suitable basket for it. I figure I am showing my age (or just my naivety) a bit by being shocked and appalled by people exploiting their kids for views online. It probably has been the case for a long time without coming into my periphery. In my head child endangerment on the net was more in lieu of incidental cases where children are left to their own devices on the internet and getting roped into the wrong crowds, rather than perpetrated by their own parents and signal boosted by the biggest platforms.

The Blasphemy Disclaimer. Especially on completely innocuous topics.

A video came onto my feed a few days ago. There's a guy who makes detailed 3d models of complex machines/vehicles and their internal structures. His videos will go through everything and explain how it works. Recently he released one showing the design of old sailing ships. Near the end of the video, apropos of nothing, the self-flagellation started.

Now, we all know these ships were used by EVIL explorers who did HORRIFIC things. Appreciating colonizer technology is rightfully taboo. But don't fret gentle viewer. The evil race who shall not be named had nothing to do with sailing technology, navigation techniques, or shipbuilding. They just used it. Actually it was diverse People of Sailing from all over the world's many equitable cultures that created all nautical technology, so its still okay to like and subscribe and hit the bell.
