Oh shit, we got a SHiFT thread. I've been watching his streams on and off since 2020 and seeing him become so miserable in real time is something else. I'd say his rage was the worst in 2022-2023, but he doesn't have those huge meltdowns AS much now. All his current streams are just SHiFT getting salty because he misses a frame-perfect trick or going on an hour long rant about trolls and haters. Him and his trolls are a clusterfuck of autism that I can't look away from. Anyway I just wanna share some of my favorite clips because the milk from this guy is gold

thats the real tragedy of this thread is that it was made after his prime, like if wings was discovered today all wacked out on mood stabilizers, i only made this because it didn't exist here and to share the laughter i had watching the backlog of content with my friends here (thats you! the person reading this)

i did about a days worth of further digging and i couldn't find anything funny to add, im pretty sure his real name and dox are known but i couldn't find them. he really only streams and updates his fans when he goes live. the alogs are faggots but not worth mentioning. I did go ahead and archive a few more of the links i posted. but yeah publish it

There are definitely a few major drama sagas missing from the OP but they're primarily from years prior. Like the doxing era, when he was still friends with the other runners of the game and they were all shitting on him in a secret discord call while watching his streams, and when he banned a truscum founder of bfbb "Hazel" for getting too spicy about other trans people.

SHiFT is a very strange character. What sticks out to me the most is how obsessed he is with garnering respect from the greater speedrunning community and his peers, along with wanting to have what he's done in the spongebob game act as his legacy. In his wild tangents he often goes on about how his detractors are soft and pussies, when he's the one who gets triggered by into multi-hour rants about trolls every night like a broken record. New viewers are afraid to type in chat because common questions about why he's playing spongebob, if he plans on playing anything else, or asking if taking a break would be good for him, all trigger bans and rants.

His spergouts were at their peak in 2022, and now more often just acts like people posting his clips onto youtube are the devil and there's an elaborate psyop going on against him to convert all of his loyal viewers into trolls via out of context clips on youtube, despite him deleting his vods from twitch and the trolls uploading them to youtube for full context of his meltdowns.

Rehydrated is a one to one remake of the game in a different engine. So none of his speed tricks work. To play it as a speed game he would need to learn everything from scratch as none of the skills you learn from one game transfer over to another. For this reason he hates it despite professing BFBB being his favorite game of all time.

I was watching that video and browsed the comment section and this one stood out to me.


SHiFT very much strikes me as someone who appears stuck in time. He wants to write off the new game because they changed a lot of mechanics he can no longer exploit like he used to in order to easily dominate. His love for the game is fully conditional on whether or not he's already good at it, rather than an appreciation of it as a whole independent of that. This is the problem of someone who is more result focused rather than someone appreciates the process of learning and adapting. He's mad that he can't breeze through the new game like the old one and is on the same playing field as someone new to the game without an edge.

If I remember correctly the remake was actually way MORE broken than the original but not in a way that would lend itself to being a good speedrun. I think there was a trick at the beginning of the run where you had to jump up an invisible wall for a few minutes and just had to hope you could make it over.

But just just because a game is a bad speedrun doesn't mean its a bad game but to Shift that was all he needed to go full DSP mode and start absolutely trashing the developers.
What's sad is I remember Shift constantly boasting about how the remake devs were in contact with both him and the speedrun community while developing the game, it was something he was clearly proud of and he ended up treating the devs like shit the whole time he was playing the remake.
It's fine to prefer the old to the new but the way he would throw tantrums about it was incredibly fucking embarrassing and the rest of his community were definitely not happy with him.

SHiFT got into a little Xitter spat yesterday with SummoningSalt, a prominent speedrunning YouTuber who makes World Record History videos of different speedruns. SHiFT gives his take on how being given recaps discourages viewers from watching “the grind.” Salt rightfully points out how retarded this take is and ratios him.
