They have this weird disconnect from their body, similar to how pooners, troons, and tenders do. It's bizarre, but it seems to be the final destination of the self acceptance movements that started in the 90s. We started with, "If you eat well and exercise you will look good," to "Everyone is different, and can't help looking the way they do," to, "Everyone is beautiful in the inside," to, "Who you are in the inside is who you really are," to, "You need to change your outside to match your inside," to, "Your body is wrong and has to be fixed at any cost," to, "Your body is just transport and is only marginally tethered to you, do whatever the fuck you want to it, it's not your fault if anything goes wrong because of genetics."I hate the way they (body positiv) people talk about their bodies. It’s never, “I have a paper cut, ow” it’s “my body experienced a laceration and is healing the best way it can, it’s easy to get frustrated but I remember how much my body does for me and appreciate its healing effort” as if their body is entirely out of their control and not the direct manifestation of themselves. Or the usual “my body is changing“ over “I lost some weight.” It’s so weird.
Something started thirty years ago with the best of intentions, and it's rapidly turned into this bizarre, malignant cancer. It's like an insane, deadly cult that started with a few mild Christian mothers meeting for Bible study and neighbourhood gossip every second Tuesday, and ended up with a billion dollar international organisation blowing up the Vatican in order to defeat the Antichrist.
