Interesting, first e621 now fanfiction.

Seems like another new crackdown from payment processors. MasterCard tells registrars to revoke DNS for any sites hosting anything that looks like child abuse content, GoDaddy and NameCheap comply.

Wouldn't be surprised if Patreon is next to suddenly notify users of stricter TOS enforcement.

e621 was like hitting an apple one meter away from you, on top of an infant's head. If you missed, then I don't think even the devil can stomach your bastard soul. If it somehow comes back (and I have a sick feeling it will), then we've just entered another layer of hell.

Destroy all the alternatives, and force you to use only the half a dozen multi-national Big Tech centralized platforms.

Yeah, I wish I could remember that quote about how the unfortunate reality of defending liberties means you spend a lot of time defending fringe cases of people who are doing heinous shit, in order to prevent tyrants from using said fringe cases as an excuse to erode liberties for everyone. Very applicable here.

I know GoDaddy is shitty and censorious but seriously, fanfiction.net is tame compared to ao3 or the thousands of literal porn and hentai sites out there. I know from experience with this site that you never really get the full story but I'm intensely curious if someone or a group has a fight just with FF.net or if theyre spamming complaints to AO3 providers too.

That depends. Has AO3 been paying the protection fee?

It's also likely that this is some kind of scheme to give the host a wake-up call that the site needs some serious maintenance.

Honestly, as much as we love to rag on furries IDGAF about pixels on a screen.

Unless something is based on a real child or cartoonified actual CSAM you might as well arrest me for 1,000 cases of murder in Fallout 4 along with the creep who drew Lilo getting railed by Stitch.

I would rather have a single Discord grooming group that actively harms real children have every one of its members thoroughly investigated than take down a million pieces of digital art.

Please I hope AO3 is next, there are full pedos on there exchanging material it’s really dark and so much worse in scale. There’s no reason for them to allow it, they virtue signal about brown people and host the most vile and violent stories about single-digit children.
