Youtube bug will sometimes bring over the comment section of a previous video you watched into the current one. Problem is, if you comment, when that glitch happens it will actually post it in the comment section of the current video. I had this happen once and I was discussing submarine sonar theory in a fucking dub pistols music video.

If you look at a map of the site, its one the most obvious place you would pick as a shooter. Especially since you could quickly figure out on the ground that it was outside the secured area. The problem with it is that its also a very improbable site because the shooter would be so visible and so exposed out there on a roof. The sniper team had complete visual coverage of that roof and good enough coverage that they immediately spotted and shot him. But somehow they were not looking at all when he climbed up on the roof and got ready.

I am deeply troubled by the things I'm hearing. No one should celebrate the attempted assassination of a presidential candidate or former president. It doesn't matter what you feel about the parties or what your concerns are. That it would happen at all is a sign of very bad things to come.

You’re correct that security is mostly a deterrent, but wrong that they couldn’t have done anything differently. There’s no excuse for that rooftop not being guarded.
I’m not going to fedpost, but there are extremely primitive weapons that can pierce even the tightest security while making it difficult for the assassin to be found. We’re extremely lucky that leftists, while very violent, also harbor a hatred for history, military technology, and building things.

This feels like 2016 all over again, even to someone who isn't from the U.S.A. What scares me is to hear people say "I wish he died". Well, what would happen if someone lose their edge and wished the opposite, upon the speaker? I know this is a hypothetical, and crazy scenario - yet do these people never think on what they are wishing upon themselves?

Commenting a bit late here, but now that the dust has settled a bit, I've had some time to think of the electoral implications of this.
TL;DR: This will help Trump regardless of how it affects his poll numbers, and could be the event that sealed the election
Obviously, this is going to give Trump a temporary bump in the polls. I don't think it's going to be massive, but it should definitely register. I'm not sure how many voters weren't supporting him before that now will. What I think this is going to do, is rally up Trump's base like never seen before. Poll numbers can be deceptive; what matters is who shows up to vote. Your candidate can be ahead in the polls, but if the voters are apathetic about your guy, they won't wait in line for an hour to cast their ballots. This is what happened in 2016 to Clinton. She was ahead in the polls, but blue voters weren't into her enough to actually show up and vote.
Anyone leaning Trump has had the apathy wiped clean away after this. Going on X and Facebook kind of is giving me 2016 vibes. Apolitical people memeing Trump in a positive light. Quiet Trump voters posting the "bloody fist pump" image in support. People aren't ashamed to support Trump after this. Rhetorically, any January 6th nonsense is completely squashed by the fact that some looney leftist tried to wack the presumed Republican nom. I think those people are going to remember July 13th come election day, and show up in support.
Meanwhile, something much more subtle happened yesterday. Everyone is memeing that this event saved Boogie's fat ass by taking all the wind out of the room. There is another beneficiary of this: Joe Biden. Since the debate, its been a constant barrage from members of his own party and the media asking him to step down. Biden's age was center of the discussion. The DNC is coming up in 3 weeks. Bad timing for Joe if an anti-Biden coalition steps up to try and get him to step down.
I'll be quite frank. Biden can't win. 80% of the country thinks he is too old to be President. The economy is a mess. His foreign policy is a mess. His domestic policy is incomprehensible. Biden had a net approval of -20.6 last week. Worse than even JIMMY CARTER when he was running for re-election. He flat out can not win. Trump, warts in all, had the country in a pretty good place when he was in office, at least compared to where we are now. The voters see that clear as day. A lot of establishment libs see that, and are scared a Biden/Harris ticket is going to put Trump back in the White House.
If Biden stepped down, the only one who could realistically replace him is Kamala. Together, they have $250m in campaign money. She'd be the only one allowed to use it as she is on the ticket. Honestly, I doubt Kamala could beat Trump either, but it would certainly be closer than Trump V Biden. Retardless, any media pressure on getting Joe to step down has been displaced by this event. It's only going to have 3 weeks to get started again. The way I see it, the next week is going to get totally swallowed by Trump assassination attempt coverage. Even if it starts back up again in a week, that leaves only two weeks that Biden has to tough it out, and he gets the nom. He gets the nom, Trump gets the White House.
