Some of you seem to be talking about "kids on the internet going into 18+ spaces", which is not grooming. Yeah, it's bad, especially if the 18+ space/content was unmarked, but it's usually marked. Kids on the internet lie about their age, because the most that the majority of these sites can do to prevent kids from coming in is to have a "Are you over 18? Check yes or no" banner and banning anyone who's retarded enough to mention being a minor. Is this a larger cultural problem with the internet? Yes, yes it is, but if you want to tackle it by banning things then you need to ball ALL PORN EVER, NOT JUST DRAWINGS AND FANFICTION. You are absolutely naive if you think all or even the majority of 18+ spaces on the internet that kids lie about their age to get involved with center around drawings and writing.
Also legal definitions of CSEM in most places specifically exclude fictional depictions unless they are fictionalized depictions of real children, e.g. RPF of underaged actors.

I don't give a shit if you're a man or woman I said visual media is male-centric. Not all 18+ spaces are marked 18+ that's cope. Is roblox marked 18+? They have a huge problem with grooming there. I said nothing about banning porn or kids lying about their ages, I have no idea where you pulled those goal posts from.

My argument is that it's ignorant to say fanfiction isn't used in grooming.

I was also saying that I was talking to people about CSAM that were posting stuff that was going into that territory. Also, lol pooners still don't know what a dick looks like even if they do watch porn. Most of the ones I know IRL are primarily reading fanfiction so YMMV.

I think you can recognize explicit written content isn't defacto illegal material if insane to write and post and also that there is not such thing as appreciable barriers between 18+ "spaces". It pretty much all squishes together and fandom encourages and obfuscates when people of vastly different ages are interacting. The trouble is in DMs and what goes on in the group chats surrounding fandoms. That isn't an easy problem to solve other than the encourage parents not to give their 12 year olds their own smart phones and personal computers. For sure allow them time on a family device. But anything more than that isn't very smart considering how homogeneous the internet has become. You have to outright now what to avoid and be willing to avoid it. Most kids won't.

Betawolf, a known child molester (see some of his online history here), commissioned me to draw cub porn when I was 11. This was when you had to give them your address to send money because I didn't have a paypal. A child molester knew I was a child and knew where I lived. I didn't know it was wrong because i'd been groomed by pokehentaimonster. If these series of events don't scream "grooming" to you, I don't think anything will.

A place that was a pokemon drawing board. There was a chatroom also on an old pokemon puzzle site. And there was Furcadia. Neopets and Nick had forums so not a good argument. I can't remember which. I met two different people on different platforms. They kind of all blur together. Got dragged onto Yahoo IM after that for one of them. A precursor to something like scribble.io is the guy who taught me that you could get people to commission art on FA after asking me to draw furry porn on that site.

Exactly. The problem is that most of the time when people complain about being censored they don't actually understand the stock arguments they fire back about freedom of speech.

The people on e621 can bitch and moan about their degenerate porn being taken away, but do you think any of them would react in a similar way and quote free speech for the KiwiFarms? Hell no.

People do not understand that degeneracy and bad taste are subjective. They don't understand that freedom of speech is either universal or it doesn't exist at all. Either you defend all speech or you just shut up and put up with being censored when you are on the edge case.

I wonder, if they fundraised donations like AO3 does, would they have to bother with ads again? Furries have a plethora of money in their wallets and spend it on furry shit day in, day out. If pooners can overfund a literature porn website every time it begs for money, why wouldn't a visual porn site?

My guess would be e621 might be trying to actually make profits. But Ao3 is explicitly a non-profit. It's run by volunteers. The money fundraised goes to keeping the servers up and on legal fees (which is also why Ao3 doesn't get stuff taken down, they have lawyers which are ready to help though I'm unsure if they've ever actually had to work on a legit case). Ao3 also doesn't really do much by the way of updates. The site largely is exactly the same as the day it went up, they only recently added the ability to block other users. They really only spend the money on the server maintenance and a few paid employees you can't get around having for an org.

They conveniently didn't mention the intended 'mental' age of the animatronic. Your physical age doesn't matter as much as your mental capabilities/life experience. An adult who has the mental capacity of a three year old cannot consent to sex, just like adults with severe intellectual disability cannot consent to sex. It's not really painted as a bad thing either. there was literally no reason for this writer to write this other than to jerk off to it. Knowing exactly how the kid was raped in detailed pornographic fashion did not contribute to the plot like, at all.
I don't think it's AI based... There's so many fuckin stories that would have been much easier to catch with less keywords

A question: will these same rules and regulations be put in place for books and officially published works? Has there been an instance where they have been? When people and businesses are profiting off gross depictions of children under the guise of true and honest art and literature, is this just another 'rules for thee but not for me' type situation?

I don't have an issue with getting pedophilic content off the internet, fictional and not (obviously), but scraping a website, especially one this old, off the internet when far more popular portals doing worse (if we were to consider real life child pornography worse in this instance) remain up is frustrating.

Why FF.net and why now? What is the endgame and who is it that's applying pressure here but not elsewhere?
