lol maybe the protestors outside the DNC are going to be fine, this turnout is grim and they don’t normally do wild things unless they have numbers to back things up.

Those are the daytime useful idiots. They're the ones providing the fig leaf for pEaCeFuL pROtEsTs. Wait for nightfall.

If I were Trump, I would promise RFK the cabinet position if he stays -in-. The man is absolutely hoovering up the NeverTrump vote from Biden.

Before COVID being an anti-vaxxer was a luxury belief system for Hollywood elites like Bill Maher and Woody Harrelson. RFK's core fan base is people who made being against something that happened four years ago a core part of their identity.
In every single way besides being against muh clot shot he's a 2003 shit lib.

The accelerationist in me loves the Vance pick, taking someone who actively supports Russia, wants to end no-fault divorce, total abortion ban, Israel supporting, it's an amazing seethe play. Amazing way to push the Biden campaign into releasing the brakes immediately.
as a democrat, I love his VP choice too. abortion bans are unpopular even in red states.

JD Vance looks like a big L honestly, while this isn't affecting the outcome of the election, he picked one of the blandest and establishment-backed Republicans, doesn't have anything original to offer, and neither does he have the charisma of Trump. Considering the fact he is supposed to be Trump's successor, I don't see how he can beat any democrat challenger considering the direction we're heading socially. He certainly won't appeal to the vast majority of younger conservative-leaning people who will be voting in 2028. Maybe he can impress and gain some reputation, but I think Trump went with another Pence-like candidate, someone who is "safe" and wouldn't draw too much attention away from himself. Remains to be seen.

Realistically a strong pick when you look at the floated possible choices. Cuckservatives and Neocons hate the pick so that's based as they are gay.

Vance has been going pretty hard the last 4+ years in Trumps favor more so then almost any other GOP member and almost goes as hard as someone like Massie when it comes to shitty bills or stuff trying to be passed.

This is an insane shift from Pence to Vance policy wise as well and actual real Trump supporters have a pretty solid view of Vance. Scott, Rubio, Burgum, Haley etc would've all been disaster picks that bring nothing to the table and just give more incentive for Trump to get shot at again as they would be terrible as President.

Only other pick I would've personally supported was probably Carson because he is clearly 100% loyal or maybe Youngkin if you believe it would secure Virginia 100%.
I think Carson is getting his old job back tbh.

I side-eye Vance for his anti abortion stance, but he's Republican so I don't know what I expected. At least he's not 900 years old.

(If I ran the universe, any lawmaker wanting to be anti-abortion or anti- birth control would have to sit in on a few autopsies of toddlers that had been beaten to death by parents who never wanted kids in the first place, and spend at least 40 hours shadowing Child Protective Service caseworkers as they make home visits to unfit parents)
Vance is still a politician, and nobody can run through that business without some slime on them. But its important to not forget that the Cathedral did everything short of shooting him to try and keep him out of the Senate. They really don't like him for many of the same reasons they didn't like Jim Webb. He's difficult to control/bribe, willing to buck the party line, and has been dunking on the oppression narrative in vogue with the Champagne crown by constantly raising the plight of the White Working Poor.

That said, its going to be interesting to see how Trump manages him as Vice President, since Vance is probably as mercurial as Trump is, if in a different more refined way. It does make the odds of Trump being killed less likely though, which also probably played into his pick. The last thing anyone in DC wants is fucking Vance in the White House. They can barely stand him being in the Senate.

A simple rebuttal, he now has minimum four years of directly working under Trump and being shown how Trump does things. In short, he can be taught how to be more. The question is if he is savvy enough and loyal enough to do well with it.
