Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

The Acolyte Is Proof That Star Wars Needs Fewer Fans At The Helm

I shit you not, this is how they think.

It's really a unique type of pants-on-fire retarded that comes from having your head so far up your ass that you can see what you had for breakfast.
Okay, on one hand I get the point about the whole lore and easter eggs thing. It's one of my biggest issues with modern Star Wars. Back in the EU sure it did similar things sometimes but usually whenever major characters would appear in stories not concerning them directly they were usually just cameos more or less.
Modern Star Wars has no such faith in any of its characters so they constantly have to shove fan favorites down your throat at all times. Even in plots they have no business being involved in.

Luke Skywalker appeared in Jedi Outcast a few times but he didn't overstay his welcome and didn't take anything away from Kyle Katarn for instance. The sequels had the reverse issue where they were too confident in their own characters to the point they had to shit on established characters to try and make theirs look better. So now that, that's backfired they're going the opposite direction but it's not addressing the actual issue.

The not having Star Wars fans in the writers room is retarded thinking. On the surface it is, "they aren't bound by existing Star Wars, new ideas..." When the reality is that they have an ever more narrower view of what Star Wars is and a clueless way to expand upon it.

Have you ever seen those clips of someone who hasn't seen Star Wars trying to explain what they think it is? How is that a good fit to write Star Wars? I'm sure they could add, "but other writers can hone the ideas." That doesn't work when the other writers don't know Star Wars very well and don't care about details in Star Wars or what they are writing.

Lesbian Headlamp really made Darth Plagueis wish.com Ezra Miller's master. lol, lmao even.

And here's the non-speaking Yoda cameo at the end:

My contacts deep inside Lucasfilm who are definitely NOT shitposters on /tv/ have told me that they will make Yaddle transgender and that Ohsa will have a statue in the Jedi Temple. Yoda will NOT appear because Dave Filoni is not allowing Leslye Headland to use him which is a huge WIN for him in the Lucasfilm civil war! They also told me that if Acolyte doesn't get better ratings than Andor then Kathleen Kennedy will be FIRED and replaced by Dave Filoni! Ladies and gentlemen, we have WON the Lucasfilm civil war and Star Wars is saved!
Mike Zeroh was always cooler

Why would the Jedi, the High Council, or the Republic, give a shit about a commune of dark side witches experimenting with Force Parthenogenesis? Wouldn't the Republic response likely be 'good riddance'? Despite being inspired by Dune, a general theme throughout Star Wars is that eugenics/bioengineering are generally regarded as undesirable or immoral (Sidious' secret Clone Army, Joruus C'Baoth and Luuke Skywalker, the Yuuzhan Vong).

Sol loves his Space Kween and she Force Chokes him. Apparently this is the superspecial way of 'killing without a weapon' (despite nearly every Dark Jedi and Sith knowing how to do this). Naturally, a Jedi Master has no defense against being choked, like their own Telekinesis, a Force Push, Breath Control, etc.

Leslye doesn't want fans in the writer's room...which is why she steals directly from the Darth Vader comics (making the crystal bleed to become a red lightsaber) and Darth Plagueis(?) lurking in the cave. She wants to freely steal from the EU without anyone calling her on it to her face.

I find it wild how Osha saw Smilo Ren snap the neck of a guy who she grew up with and stab a girl she was beginning to bond with (and call her an it in the immediate aftermath) but is immediately believing his bullshit about how the Jedi are oppressing the Sith by... not letting them murder and mindrape people without impunity, apparently, and is now likely going down a romance arc with him??? Him saying "well they're not your friends because they're jedi lol" immediately got her to forget that he laughed about killing people she cared about? It immediately got her to gun for him so hard that she'd strangle a man who loved her like a daughter? Like two smooth r/im14andthisisdeep tier sentences was enough for her to throw her loved ones to the wolves and drop her panties for the man who killed like half of them. Great hero, this one is.

This comes right after they make Black Lesbian Space Witch get her stupid ass killed because she decided turning into a dementor and dissolving her child in front of already tense Jedi with ignited lightsabers was the best course of action upon discovering there was a fire in the compound. You know, for as progressive as Lesbian Headlamp is touting Acolyte to be, she's sure making its black female heroes look like evil retards.

Well I don't know much about RatLore but originally it was more that the Jedi were the state religion and basically had a monopoly on the force where they could enforce it. Wary that they were of a resurgence of Sith or Sith-like organizations, they tended to stamp any out they disapproved of, whether in or outside of their order, including non-dualists like "Grey Jedi", ruthlessly persecuted.

What can you really say about this? It's just bad and doesn't follow any logical sense. Osha doesn't even want to know how or under what circumstances her mother died. Also, no concern for the other mother who they think is dead. Some more of the brilliant writing there.

I don't know if this is too nitpicky, but how does Mae know how to use the pip boy? Wasn't that Osha's special tool for working as a union mechanic or whatever she was.

The Capybara person. Why did he sabotage the ship? Which of course serves no purpose in the plot.

The senator foreshadowing Anakin is so absolutely cringe and eye rolling. I made a comment above about writers that don't know Star Wars would have a more limited understanding of what it can be. Which is why so many ideas just get repeated. Versions of dialogue. When Mae and Osha climb down into the tunnel. As they move through it lights go on. I'm immediately thinking cloud city. Then Mae says she was sucked into the tunnel as she fell. Good grief.

No point to litigate every dumb thing. It's endless. Little things like, why did Osha need to lock Smilo out of the controls of his ship when they both want to go to the same place. Why do Mae and Osha know the exact same fighting technique? I feel like i'd have an aneurysm trying to make sense of the story.

Why didn't Mae go with Osha and Smilo? Why did Sol need both to prove they're the vergence. They already had proof from blood samples when they were kids. Are we meant to believe the Jedi just never mentioned the vergence of force and powerful force properties of the witches planet. Yet never covered up all the witches were there and died.

We're all dumber for having watched it. Just imagine how much worse this'll be in a season two.

Plagues watching over Osha train. Green lady as the protagonist going after her ex pupile with out the Jedi knowing, or maybe Yoda will. Of course the writer expands the wifes role for a second season. The remaining mother coming into it. More threads vs force bullshit. More tie in's to the original films. Eh..

I assume it is Sol letting himself be killed because he knows he did a bad thing when fearing for the life of a child he killed a black spooky smoke demon.

That might've worked if the Lesbian witches didn't act like an evil cult obviously manipulating the Force for their own ends and escalated every situation with the Jedi. Any normal person assumed that the Jedi fucked with the reactor and caused the real fire that burned down the cult, not a witch pissing off her own daughter to burn her other daughter to death. The witches really needed to be Grey Jedi-types that actually didnu nuthing and the Order being sanctimonious in how they govern themselves. Instead, Sol kept getting probable cause to investigate and the script forced a confrontation.

You know, I'm going to say Filoni is the better producer. Yeah, I'm aware Ahsoka is a boring show that makes lightsabers non-lethal weapons, but it at least helps connect to the Sequel trilogy by showing just how useless the New Republic is. Headlamp can't link her shit to any other shows despite awkward attempts to do so. Filoni makes D- pabulum that punishes fans of his shows for using their brains. Headlamp can't even write characters with consistent motivations from scene to scene.

from what I'm gathering from what I've read they're definitely making a season 2 despite the backlash, cost and double down on all of it because it sounds like they didn't resolve dick. did they explain what the witch cult was doing? their goal with the kids? or that planet? just make dyke paradise? the main girl becomes evil to fuck the bad guy and now they have plageus, the green bitch from the image is going to yoda's bedchamber like a good little green slut. What does it even mean they're the same person?

Y'all got fuckin duped they made a huge piece of shit that doesn't resolve anything to gain enough engagement to continue it even if they lose money to virtue signal. Lmfao

This show is full of the most desperate attempts to "seamlessly" weave Disney's nonsensical new canon in George's original movies I have ever seen. I mean, Darth Plagueis not inventing the life creation technique but learning it from watching a coven of witches is just pure nonsense. You're removing everything that makes a unique being.

Maybe so, maybe not; it's Disney Lucasfilm so rational decision making is optional on a good day and AWOL of other days.

A week or so ago Harvey's former PA was saying she didn't know if there was going to be a second season and in the last few days there's been a gay op to generate "social media buzz" in support of a second season. That seems to have fallen on it's arse getting only a few thousand hash tag referrals from the same accounts multiple posting.

The "engagement" issue is more interesting. That was the card being used (deceptively) by the likes of Screenrant last week to claim glorious victory despite the evil incel ist/phobe chuds and their hate mongering. It's also been the Parrot Analytics MO for years. The problem is these these "engagement" metrics have been shown not to correlate with viewing figures (or financial success) Morbius being a wonderful (and non wokey) example. This show also has the problem that the Nielson data is now coming out and it's shite.

This is a good point...Luke, Han, and Leia showed up all the time. I remember at least one of the few books I read in high featured Luke. And, of course, there are tons of OT-based video games. Nobody cares about Rey, or Poe, or Finn, or Spoon-Faced Asian. There's zero demand for ST games and media. Even the soy people can't fake caring.

Meanwhile, fans of the OT and the PT couldn't get enough of their characters in their video games and media. Even side characters like Jango Fett and Wedge Antilles got their time to shine. Jango Fett saved the galaxy from a drug epidemic that would've caused chaos galaxywide in Bounty Hunter, while Wedge Antilles carried the Alliance war effort while Luke was off training with Yoda in Rogue Squadrons 2 and 3.
