That reminds me, didn’t Bibi dump Chantal after she had a bunch of serious health issues?
Bibi at least helped her through the hysterectomy. But he always wanted kids, she did not.
What really killed their relationship, I think, was Chantal's decision to be a YouTuber. She was a shitty human being from the jump, but having a YouTube audience allowed her to give free rein to her absolute worst qualities. If you warch her earliest videos, then keep jumping forward in time, you can watch her gradually unfold into an absolute monster. She didn't just lose Bibi due to that negative transformation, but her friend Rina, as well.
He did stick with her through the hysterectomy, and took care of her while she recovered, even though it was obvious he'd had enough of her shit and was done with her. So he's a far better man than Chantal ever deserved, even at her best. Of all the characters in this saga, he's the only one of the humans who wasn't a complete hot mess. I hope he gets the five kids he said he wanted.
Random thought but are health questions part of the visa application?
Not for tourist visas. If she was a real expat, there on a work or family visa, she would be required to have proof of health insurance (which she couldn't possibly get; not at a rate she could afford, anyway), but even if could get insurance, she would be refused a visa for her uncontrolled diabetes. There's a bunch of serious health conditions that will keep you from getting approved for a work/residency visa in Kuwait, and that's a big one.
Gutted she’s not married anymore though. That was one quickie divorce, the Western World could never.
If they had any sort of "marriage," it was a temporary contractual agreement. Sharia law makes a couple of provisions for short-term marriages of convenience, which can either be allowed to lapse at the end of the contracted period, or dissolved by the husband simply saying it's over (this latter one allows Muslim men to have sex with prostitutes by "marrying" them, so it's not adultery, then "divorcing" them when business is done).
So I would imagine that Chantal and Salah, if they married at all, had a short-term contract that they perhaps renewed once, but it has since lapsed, or is about to lapse, and Salah has told her he won't renew it. And since either party can decide they want a divorce, and end the contract early, it's possible that's what's happening.
And I only push the idea that they do have some sort of very basic marital contract because Salah, as a non-citizen, has to stay on the right side of the law, and their relationship (such as it is) would not be permissible under Sharia law without one. (I know a lot of people here don't belive there is any marital arrangement between them, and I can totally get why, but it just feels unlikely to me, given that culture.)
ETA: And I wouldn't exclude the possibility that the hospital she went to during her most recent diabetic crisis has informed her that they will be reporting her to immigration, or have already done so. It wouldn't surprise me if they are required by law to do so (especially given the recent crackdowns on diabetic expats straining an overburdened system), and since Chantal has obviously been border-hopping to keep renewing her visa, I can see immigration deciding that she's not getting a new one..
