maybe its a result of preparing for a ""red wave"" in 2020, and the 2022 midterms, but with how close some of these states are (literally .1% difference within flipping distance), the idea of democrats getting a candidate that isnt a corpse or how trump was overexaggerated in the polls in 2020 really has me fucking spooked

I'm fully convinced people only call themselves "conservative" because they have no other term to use. Alt-right was poisoned almost immediately, tea party has long lost any relevancy, America First is not even a thought (it is a Trump line to these people), and dissident right is not really on their radar either.

Not to mention they probably are only tangentially aware of things that are happening depending on where they consume their news, and they aren't really knowledgeable about politics in the first place.

Personally, I believe NRx is the future, but it's gotta be dumbed down a lot so more people can get it. Auron MacIntyre does a great job of this, but he's only one guy and does not have wide reach.

That's not even getting into the temporarily embarrassed liberals who just don't want to be associated with progressivism.

If they could convince one of their "star" candidates like Newsom or Whitmer to run then they should probably give up any pretenses of an open convention and just force one of those tickets. Besides having the advantage of not dying before election day, Kamala may actually be a worse choice than Biden for a multitude of reasons so I think if she's their only option it's a toss up as to whether it's better to keep sleepy Joe or go with her.

Not willingly, at least. It is clear the Democrats are bringing out the big guns to get him to drop, as internal pressure has so far failed. Now, they are resorting to massive external pressure, which is also failing at the moment. The likelihood of dropping out has increased, but I imagine that if he's not gone within the next week, they will ramp up the pressure for the final time.
