You'd drop your panties for these fine gentlemen in a heartbeat, you absolute hypocrite.

Y'know, I have to wonder if parents (soccer moms mostly) having freak-outs over anime and calling it creepy misogynistic violent schlock has played a part in why it is American anime fans are so insane about it. Had anime been treated as something normal and no big deal, but also if adults weren't so stupid about thinking all animation is for children only to get a rude wake-up call when they find their precious angels seeing a cartoon character getting ripped in half and tits bouncing around on the screen after they came home from Blockbuster, maybe anime fans wouldn't have grown up so neurotic about it.
Soccer moms say anime and video games are satanic, retarded kids rebel. Retarded kids become trannies who say anime and video games are gay, retarded kids say thats faggotry. Retarded kids become soccer moms who say anime and video games make people gay, round and round the cycle goes. Ill admit Im a bit scared to read something like F Compo, My Two Wings, Bra Girl or anything with trannies for that matter cause of the small chance Ill become a porn addicted tranny. But the moral posturing and assertions should probably stop.

If Urusei Yatsura and now Ranma 1/2 is getting remade, does that mean there's an Inuyasha remake later?

woke shit
If this were before Current Year, a Ranma 1/2 anime would be watched normally in the USA.

But can you imagine the impact such an anime with temporary sex changes could have on impressionable viewers in Clown World America?

What about China? With the current tensions and anti-Japan rhetoric and sentiment, and the show having Chinese themes and aesthetics, and a Chinese girl falling for a Japanese boy(no not that 80s Aneka song) what will the CCP do? Will they ban it or re-edit it to show Chinese superiority?

If anything they should just continue Yashahime. Inuyasha has peak art and animation that still holds up perfectly, unlike Urusei Yatsura which looks great but only if you appreciate older anime's aesthetic.

My biggest disappointment with the UY show is that it was just a remake of the 80s anime. I was hoping, based on the opening which had Ataru checking out girls on his phone, that it would have original stories set in modern day Tokyo. NOPE. We're back in the 80s rehashing the same old stories. Good nostalgia, I guess. But I wanted something more.

UY is set more in the late '70s and early '80s -- IIRC there's references to disco in early chapters. For example, I think that manga chapter where Ataru and Lum go on a date to the pool and other places is set on the day after Tanabata, in 1979. They could have gone with a series set now where Ataru and the gang are well into the adult years, but I still like the re-animation of the manga stories.

trivia time: Ataru was born on April (4 can be considered "unlucky" in Japan) 13th (and on a Friday), on a Butsumetsu day (supposedly bad luck all day) on that 6-day Rokuyou calendar, way back in the 1960s -- if he were a real guy, he would be around middle-aged now.

Oh yeah, and that VIZ manga series that was released in the USA in the late '90s tried to "retcon" to make the story set in the '90s.

They also toned down the fanservice in UY, so the same'll happen with Ranma. It seems that MAPPA hates animating that sort of stuff.

Well, I think it's more of most anime studios thesedays, they tone down the fanservice. But you probably right in Mappa direction choice, at least they are more aware of "international" viewer opinions. Even JP twitter agrees so,

Last season, Boukyaku battery - Oblivion battery by Mappa. Aoi Toudo's older sister lingerie is opaque in anime, but it's transparent in manga.

Chihaya loves to adjust his glasses with middle finger in manga. In anime, he doesn't.

Meanwhile, they have other add things that aren't in manga, or enhance them.

Actually showing physical AV cover (it's pretty tame) looks like rather than only the shock.

Super saiyan transformation.

But lets say Mappa is gay and more willingly to do anime men fanservice, then I remember on twitter with JJK guys having more detailed muscle and tone body. Or in ending song for Oblivion battery above, they animate Kei butts, probably few rare guy butts look nicely shape and not typical butt naked joke.
Edit: I forgot, Mappa has made like 3 BL anime.
