Oh no, please don't let trannyslators get a hold of this, I fucking love Ranma 1/2... They're going to rape Ranma with their girldicks.
Dub will be horrible. Ranma will be a they/them.
Hahahahahaha can't wait to see twitter and tranny discourse with zoomerisms to ruin yet another old series that people liked back then.
I'm sure that they'll fuck up the subs or dub with current year shit. Only the recent Urusei Yatsura manga re-release had modern localization that made no sense:Thank God I bought the anime boxsets when I did, I can enjoy kino without fear of woke shit. And as far as I know, the 2-in-1 re-release is still faithful now that I've begun picking volumes up as I see them.
Discotek only censors gay and tranny content in the shows it releases. In general, it seems that older anime is rarely ever touched by the woke police. The only case I've ever heard is Kyatto Ninden having some gay jokes toned down for Discotek's release. But at the same time Discotek also did a re-release of Angel Cop which was more faithful and actually kept that anime's "evil jews are behind everything" plot point.
I haven't watched the new Urusei Yatsura anime but it looks good by modern standards, based on the trailer I saw. I don't think even the best looking modern anime can hold a candle to 90's stuff, but it looks good enough to me.
I've really enjoyed the new UY adaptation, really captures the look and energy of the managa (loved the original series too, but it definitely became its own thing as the series went on). If they're doing a Ranma remake, I hope they make a similar effort. Agree with @skykiii that the original series started out quite good, but between the really severe budget cuts and original stories, it just felt like a lot of missed opportunities.I've heard some good things about that recent Urusei Yatsura remake from David productions so I guess it makes sense to try ranma next, if there capable fo doing Urusei Yatsura outside of the 80s maybe it's possible to do ranma separate from the 90s. Still ranma 1/2 and it's specific era of anime is just way to close to my heart to accept any sort of replacement or imitation.
What haven't been mentioned much at all is the studio was in the process of going tits up while it was doing Ranma. And completely shutdown a few years after finishing Ranma. If they're doing a Ranma remake, I hope they make a similar effort. Agree with @skykiii that the original series started out quite good, but between the really severe budget cuts and original stories, it just felt like a lot of missed opportunities.
Ugh, who wrote that blurb in that image? I need to throw up.They've already done this not too long ago. Ranma is a guy trying to get rid of his curse of turning into a woman. He doesn't try to escape gender distinctions. Any time androgyny, crossdressing, effeminate bishonen, gender bender (TSF) or otokonoko stuff is in a manga or anime it automatically means "tranny" to the looney troons.
Yep, I'm throwing up.I'm sure that they'll fuck up the subs or dub with current year shit. Only the recent Urusei Yatsura manga re-release had modern localization that made no sense:
My reaction was more "I want to find who wrote that and beat them with a Clue Stick."Ugh, who wrote that blurb in that image? I need to throw up.
Canadians did the dub for Ranma not Americans.I knew that was coming after the Urusei Yatsura remake.
The faggot american dub will rape this one to death.
Yeah but will Canada still dub the new series?Canadians did the dub for Ranma not Americans.
It's not just the fear of appeasement to the West, the other worry is if it could be animated and done right by today's anime production. I'm not sure if they can recapture it, or if it might end up getting bland or animated poorly or end up like that new Berserk anime. By the way, anyone remember that SNES game Street Combat? That was a reskin and repainted version of the first Ranma SNES game due to localization license issues:I better hope this is a more faithful remake and not a gutting to appease Americans, especially trannies. I know Urusei Yatsura gotten remade and its been somewhat well-recieved from what I've heard, so there's hope for this as well.
Ah yeah, I remember seeing the game's major differences on TCRF for a good while. Maybe they should adapt this too into a series? Maybe Takahashi-sensei could make a manga of it.
