That Metal Thread

Absolutely. IIRC they were banned from the entire US (?)

Not sure if Taake was banned from the USA -I can definitely recall Taake gigs getting cancelled tho- but if so it wouldn't be a surprise bc Hoest has a criminal record. Black Metal musicians, criminal records and the USA don't work well together.

I checked M-A and of course they were kvetching about Absu.

Like this faggot who clutches his pearls over the thought of (presumable) skinheads drinking beer and yelling "TRANNIES" during the set (which would be equivalent to five Holocausts):o

"I've never met an Absu fan in the wild" as though anyone who likes Absu wears their shirts 24/7 and sieg heils every twenty seconds just to let you know they're heckin chudderinos

And to think Absu wasn't even controversial ten years ago. What a bunch of closet wankers with histrionic personality disorder.

When the fuck did Absu become controversial? What the fuck?

Proscriptor decided he didn't want a tranny in his band and fired the troon-guitarist. That's literally it.

There is no right or wrong way to play this game. The people doing this are barely associated with Metal. They may have heard a core album in their teens. Right now they would be super-dooper into crust punk and ganging up on any metal band, because you can probably find something "problematic" if you dig deep enough into any band that's been touring for a couple of decades. They will call venues in another state and claim to be regulars concerned about women's/triamorous-poliqueer/LGBTBBQ/elf safety due to comments made by so and so a decade ago and the venue will drop the gig because quite frankly they can just book a DJ and not have to wipe up the spilt beer. The bigger venues can wear the loss of clientele because they make enough money on pop/rap/any other music.

There is only one way to break this curse, for a venue to emerge, who is sympathetic to the genre and the people, whose interests it represents (ie normal working-class men) and be unafraid to say, "no fuck you, I book whom I want, from Absurd to Zyklon SS." And also be prepared to take these antifa shits to court for defamation, malicious meddling with their business interests and anything else they are doing that's even mildly illegal in their jurisdiction.

How unfortunate. Keep the troon and then the whole band’s existence revolves around their brave, valid guitarist, and not their music. Kick out the troon, and the whole band’s existence revolves around the brave, valid guitarist no longer in the band, and not their music.
I don't know if you guys heard "Melissa's" music, but it's such typical AGP shit it's a borderline parody. This is the freak those antifa scene kids defend.

That is so boring, musically and thematically. There are so many good retro-style bands out there similar to this - Traveler, Green Lung, Satan’s Satyrs (eh, they kinda suck ass, but they were a great opener for Electric Wizard and more authentic than this shit). At least they got a good bass mix.

Because fags can't metal. The imagery in that clip is that he makes himself up as a woman and a man comes in to fuck him in the ass in a cheap hotel. What a great, relatable message. You want to be a male prostitute addicted to drugs? That's not decadent, that's fucked-up.

Compare to this (can't find it on yt atm):

Crue - Too Fast for Love

Obviously Crue had their problems, but look at them in those stilettos. How does a man not topple over, his ass not being the center of gravity when walking on those fucking things. It's an athletic performance. Glam done right.

I remember the whole fuss around Gaahl being gay, but at least he's a great vocalist who didn't make his sodomite lifestyle the focus of Gorgoroth. Gaahl is definitely a bit of a goof, though.

Him and King ov Hell trying to steal the band out from under Infernus was pretty fucking gay though

Did any of the actual nazis in the BM ever do anything there, other than call him a fag? Is anybody bothering to heckle Melissa Moore? Anybody gaf about Rob Halford? Somehow trannies get their (sisters' stolen) panties into a bigger twist about metal bands than Christian fundies.

Semi-related; I stumbled across this website for a fest in Austin and honestly thought it was a default website template until I read the text, lol

"We celebrate diversity and inclusivity, our lineup includes musicians from different backgrounds and cultures"

And yet Inferi is playing at the fest...

metal-archives said:
According to Malcolm Pugh, the band name comes from the Harry Potter series, in which Inferi are corpses that have been reanimated by a dark wizard’s curse.

Any reason why they can't change their name to something a little less TERFy?
