Sony hate thread

Wasn't TLOU2 a pack in? I know they count those as sales
It was, they are doing the same that Microsoft did when they released the XBONE, were every game packed in counted as a sale. And there is a deal were, if you own the PS4 original (digital only of fucking course), for $10 extra you can get the remastered version, and those might count as sales too.

>TLOU2 Remastered in the Top 10 sales for 2024
Yeah, I'm calling a huge doubt on that. He even stated in his article that the Palworld data was missing and it's guaranteed that it outsold TLOU2:R. Considering It Takes Two, which came out in 2021, is at 8th and fucking Rainbow Six Siege is at 9th, there's probably A LOT of PC sales they're not counting because they're not from major publishers. Enshrouded, Manor Lords, Supermarket Simulator, and Balatro were all in the top 10 Steam sales from January to May this year and they don't have a major publisher reporting the sales to GSD.

Numerous random indies/small devs have been popping off incredibly hard because people are tired of AAA delivering trash every year.
TLOU2 must have been bought by a few thousand people as it hit sales bins and with nothing else for the sonyggers to play, why not watch a man fuck a man again...i mean, play an amazing game.

Helldivers 2 has more than half of its' userbase on Steam, so it's only a 'massive success' because it was multiplatform. Imagine if sony had forced the PSN account on the playerbase, what that would have done to numbers...

I think too that after the consoles die, it puts a lot more pressure on Nintendo to improve their quality, they have been coasting for years, their sales have not exactly been stella. Pokemon sc/vi were black swans. Honest answer pc gaming is just a damn sight cheaper and has more agency. Food prices in the UK are high including everything like coffee when I am out etc and dog food my food bill is £500 abouts. My gaming budget is £10 the last few months as I am playing Wow. These fuckers expect their NPC audience to fork over £70 on their slop every month or so and just take it but people are equating their worth to time and quality and it don't check out. They expected the same if not more during a period where their core audiences are at their financially worst.

Fuck them they deserve to die, corpo fucks get the fuck outta here with your parasocial shit.

As of March 2024, the Nintendo Switch has shipped over 141 million units worldwide, making it Nintendo’s best-selling home console and the third-best-selling game console of all time, behind the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS.

Nintendo has been doing incredible, especially considering what their output has looked like. It isn't bad by any means, good even, but there's several cases where you wonder what's up. Not just them putting Mario Kart on life support for a decade, but also going this long without another 3D Mario, or the blatant DLC which is TotK, and so on.

Switch 2 needs a new Mario Kart in its first year, and Donkey Kong, and lots of other stuff or I'm going to wonder what the hell they've been doing. They had more games before consolidating their portable & console resources, so it's very strange how inefficient they are.

Again, there's enough to play, but there have been conspicuous dry spells here or there. Nothing that effects me but is noticeable.

Nintendo just rerelease the same games over and over. Except for Starfox which they use to torture fans of the OG or Lylat Wars with.

Depends on what you mean. All Zelda's after LttP followed the same formula until BotW but I wouldn't consider them the same game or anything close. TotK is the first time I consider them to have done so.

As for Mario, that's true for the NSMB subset of games at least. They're really good but almost indistinguishable from each other.

It's the same song and dance with every one of Nintendo's consoles' lifecycles. Starts out great, fucking nothing in the middle, and a big push at the end. They're holding off a lot for the Switch 2, but for various reasons have kept delaying it.

A new Mario Kart is definitely being set aside as an exclusive to push sales for the Switch 2. We're also due for a new 3D Mario game. There's also going to be some games that will be multiplatform like how BOTW was on the Wii U or Twilight Princess was on Gamecube. Metroid Prime 4 and the new Pokemon Kalos game are looking to be those candidates.

I just realized that more time has passed between the release of Super Mario Odyssey and today than the releases of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.
It's kind of like how 12 years passed between GTA III and GTA V and (assuming no delays) 12 years will pass between GTA V and GTA VI.

And also worth mentioning is that there was a 12 year gap between the time GTA San Andreas took place and the year GTA San Andreas actually released.

But enough about that, Sony sucks balls.

And imagine if Mario, again, isn't a launch title (hasn't been since N64, I think). That's a big wait, so it better blow people's socks off. We might be looking at a wait as long as Sunshine to Mario Galaxy 2...

It's unreal. Taking 7 fucking years to make 70 dollar dlc... After Ocarina, Nintendo was able to make Majora's Mask within 2 years, a completely unique world, with a unique plot, mechanics, dungeons, music, and characters (reusing some models but they're entirely different people).

Tears took 7 long years to... reuse the entire world map and bland characters, add in half-baked sky/underground levels, a pathetic attempt at ""dungeons"", the same bite-size storytelling method, a vehicle maker, and fucking FURRIES. So glad I didn't fall for it like I did BOTW, I need that money for rent these days.

Yeah, it's a disgrace and disappointment even if it's not a bad game per se. They had the balls to up the price too, the DLC costing more than the original game lol.

Keep in mind BotW took forever too and was essentially a Wii U port, so in a sense the only original Zelda game for Switch will be Echoes of Wisdom...

They haven't been nearly as bad with the Switch with the third party stuff making up the difference.

To be fair, we did get Mario Wonder this gen too.

They definitely got better 3rd party support than they had with either the Wii, or Wii U, but it's well below their NES & SNES hayday. I'd say it's been about on par with GC, at least in terms of notable exclusives.

Yeah, and some would probably count Bowser's Fury too, but I was just talking about stand-alone 3D Mario specifically. In general there's been a fair amount of Mario.

Wii U launched with New Super Mario Bros U, if you wanna count that. It's also the cover game for the last issue of Nintendo Power. At least it was an original game.
I definitely count that, not sure how it slipped my mind. Insert obligatory Wii U joke here.
