This game is completely DOA and it's fully deserved. And honestly it's not just the pronouns. Everything about it is like a generic, derivative copypaste of a million other games that are out there. There isn't a single thing about it that stands out or is unique, and the character designs are fucking repulsive.

It's open beta and my god it's probably the worst team shooter I have ever played. So many weird design choices. 1 shot sniper rifle kills in three bullets to the chest with a hefty reload. There's just two fun characters to play. No one plays healer. No one plays tank. No one plays together. Much of this can be attributed to it being beta but I don't think the game will ever get enough of a playerbase to actually develop a competitive meta or anything of the sort. The game's just HEAVILY frustrating as nobody seems to be able to tell their ass from their elbow but EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN CHARACTER is ABSOLUTELY FUCKING GIMPED to the point that you NEEEEEEED your team to pull their weight if you wanna stand a chance at all. It's akin to any match of League of Legends, or trying to do a Left 4 Dead Expert with day 1 noobs. Everyone just fucks off to die in the first twenty seconds then you get gangbanged. Fun!
It's just 5 randos plinking each other to death with nerf guns, an invincible refrigerator and a huge aimbot bitch with rockets. Everyone else is filler. The minigun must be shooting bbs. The revolver guy is almost entirely useless. Frax The Lawsuit Destroyer just overall sucks. There's this weird plant person who is Tracer but significantly worse. Soldier 77 is alright but dull as hell. I don't know how'd they think, Sony Interactive, no less, that they could just release "Overwatch but wayyyy worse" 8 years late and make bank. This game can't have been cheap, but it's utter garbage.

So I'm not the only one taking the polar plunge. I've only played it for a couple hours mainly because I work weekends. Fortunately I'm usually home around prime time hours so I usually get in during "active hours" (big fucking air quotes here) so I'm able to find matches no problem, but:
1. The performance is fucking ass in this game on PC. This game will, for whatever reason, drop below playable frames to 20-30 even with DLSS ultra performance and low settings.
2. Weapons are weak as shit. Why the fuck does it take two shots to the head to down someone with a sniper?
3. You can't reload while sprinting and the game won't reload automatically when you run out. I've died so many fucking times because of this.
4. Character designs are bad. They range from bland and boring to just flat ugly.
5. There's no open match making during games. If someone drops, game over. You fucking lost.
6. The only positive I can say about the characters is they're at least quiet. The only one I surprisingly found to be cringe worthy was the gay garbage can robot with the lisp.
Not impressed for a 40 dollar game and considering this game is a month out till release, I'm not expecting anything ground breaking in terms of updates in the short term. There's no firing range either so a lot of the classes I can't really make heads or tails often times during heated moments so I just end up flailing around trying to figure out what the fuck anything does. I don't think it's the worst team based shooter I've played (giving that award to Lawbringers), but it's definitely one of them of all time. It's just so painfully average.

I can't give any details but I'm doing third party work on a yet unannounced game by a big company, and it's just all this shit all over again.
I'll say every male character I've seen is listed as gay or bi or pan. Not so the women.
Oh and the setting is a future version of our world fucked over by Climate Change.
They can't help themselves.

This stupidity infests modern shooters (singleplayer and multiplayer). It's like these dipshits have never handled a firearm or even understand what a "sniper" does.
"Sniper" rifles fire rounds designed to destroy human beings with a single hit. A headshot is practically a guaranteed one-hit kill with an ordinary firearm (a simple 9mm will do), but a high-grain 7.62 or even a 5.56 out of a long rifle is going to shatter whatever it hits like Gallagher's hammer smashes watermelons. Even a center-of-mass shot is life-threatening.
This "muh balance" garbage ruins actual game balance. Want to include a sniper in the game? Make it hard as fuck to take an accurate shot (breath-holding to minimize shake, implement bullet drop/ballistics, etc.). If you think making head shots less-than-lethal is how you balance a sniper, take it out of the game.

Hot take, but the entire hero-shooter genre is a bad idea: combining the frustrating team-reliant mechanics of a moba with the aforementioned's particle effect spam becoming a visual clusterfuck in first-person (which is why overwatch was a terrible e-sport and deservedly died). Also in the past we oft called OW a TF2 clone but this was frankly untrue as TF2 is a class-based shooter just with actual characters for the classes. Nonetheless, this game was also doomed because of the woke slop and uninspired, marvel-like art style that has been done to death. At least Overwatch had the decency to add some attractive characters alongside its woke slop - so much so that more people have gooned to tracer or D.va than probably have ever played OW.
I agree and its why ultimately why a lot of games can't handle having snipers (or shotguns with realistic range for that matter) because it becomes too oppressive in the hands of a skilled player (whether via legitimate means or as is increasingly the case nowadays through aimbotting). It's simply antithetical to the ethos of a hero-based shooter in particular given the focus of team play as opposed to individual skill expression.
Its known that the Canadian govt. funds some of this shit and I'm sure big corpos like Microsoft and Sony have special funds allocated to funding these projects to boost their ESG score (or whatever the newest version of woke kikery is called nowadays). Nonetheless, this game looks like it cost an exorbitant amount to make making it hard to believe this can just be written off without at least a twinge of fiduciary pain.

I had a look at the article itself and it's a word salad, exactly as you'd expect. The only thing I took away was that competitive matchmaking sounds like absolute cancer; you're not allowed to pick the same character twice in a row. Even the comments are calling the game bad the the author a faggot.
