Just for the record we already have an older thread from 2021 in community watch for the general community of Vtubers and their Vtubies, and the fact they clearly have something wrong with them. It hasn't seen a lot of activity in recent times which I think is sad because they're an absurd demographic as a whole.

As for Pippa, like most things weeb related the fans claim if you just give it a chance you'll find it has more substance to it, and as usual they're wrong. In her case from what I've seen she isn't significantly funnier or more clever than any number of people who aren't Vtubers, it's clearly just that the people into this shit have some condition that causes a heightened perception of entertainment when an anime girl graphic is bobbing up and down in the corner of their screen. Oh my god, that cartoon just said something politically incorrect then did a meme. How hilarious and subversive, this content really speaks to me.

Right now there is an enormous amount of backlash against vtubing across the entire mainstream commentator spectrum. Artists are getting their patreons and even paypal accounts deleted because they draw characters under seven heads tall. Mass reports are happening, and fleshtubers are acting like it is their personal moral crusade to destroy vtubing before it corrupts the youth. This is not a small matter; people are losing their livelihoods over it. Unless people bother to stand up and politely point out just how insane this all is and how ridiculous these witch-hunts are, they will become normalized and never stop. That is why I bother doing things I know members here don't like me doing and reach out to other people I know members here would rather ignore, because when those people fall, we are next.

I stumbled into the first Pippa thread a while ago, which was a shitshow, but it made me curious about what her attraction is and why she seems to have a lot of dedicated spergs that either love her or are really obsessed with attacking her.

I checked out a couple of her popular older streams and her content was OK once you got used to her annoying voice. She seems to ride the fine line on being edgy and works her audience well to generate entertaining interactions.

As detailed in the OP, there are skeletons in her closet however I don't think that this is unusual for someone with a dysfunctional early life, is terminally online and has admitted to mental illness in the past. I would struggle to name a streamer who doesn't fit into this description.

From my perspective she seems like a pretty vanilla streamer who is being edgy/controversial to stand out in a saturated market.

Is the hate for her just because muh animes? Because she is sektur adjacent? Will she generate enough drama to keep this thread interesting or will it just be autistic slap fighting?

What @Osama Bin Laden said, but there's also the nostalgic/infantile component that comes with middle-school in Japan. It is a very fetishized period because you are both old enough to take your own decisions, but also young enough to not be expected to figure out your own life and be independent. It is the perfect middle ground for the manchild who would get something out of this cartoon, as the outright pedophiles already have their loli/shota and most likely won't spend their money on an ecchi, even if it has teenagers in it.
