Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I don't know if this is obvious but I'm pretty sure being strong against everything but also weak against everything too is supposed to be the special gimmick here.
yep figured that

(but the "in-universe" reasoning is wat)

Sometimes the series gets incredibly autistic with how the type matchups work, tbh.
Like Water being super-effective on Fire is obvious, but Ghost resisting Bug is less so.

Shit like this makes me wonder if it's rooted in mythology or something
People are generally afraid of bugs. Ghosts are scarier, though, and that makes the Bug Types feel inferior so Ghost Types resist them. Very clear line of thinking.

They're really banking on Pokemon Home. BDSP and SWSH are still nintendo switch games. Crazy to think that its been 5 years since SWSH and there hasn't been a new nintendo console like there was for the GBA and DS families of consoles.
HOME has such an annoying way with messing with other games. Or even a lack of HOME like how you couldn't transfer anything from there to Scarlet and Violet for a while after it released. All because the creators wanted to force you to try out the new Pokémon. It should at least be our choice whether or not we do that.

There really aren't many legendary Ghost types or Bug type pokemon besides Genesect and maybe Giratina but its a dual type. Game Freak sure loves their Dragons, Psychics, and Fire types.

A lot of the old Pokemon have been restricted from use for a period of time since Gen 3 until ‘updates’ happen? Why would Pokemon allow you to do something that they’ve not really done for 20 years.

The prpblem with Home honestly is it is called Home but it does not feel like it, no decorating or games or anything.

Overpowered in Gen 1.

The only super effective moves were weak like Lick, or was Twineedle used by Beedrill (who could get outran and 1HKO'd by Psychics). And Special was both Special Attack and Special Defense, and Psychic types had high Special. With Gen 2, they really tried to balance it out by splitting the Special stat and introducing the Dark and Steel types.

I want another non-Dragon Pseudo Legendary. Dragon's gotten enough pampering.

You couldn't pluck them from a box and transfer to your game so casually until HOME, it's not the same.

New pokemon that wound up being just as broken as the pokemon they banned to "try to balance the games"

  • Gets an exclusive move that doubles if it attacks first
  • Gets another boost from Strong Jaw
  • Both boosts combined are more powerful than Z moves were in the previous egenrations
  • So powerful, you need a quad resister or immunity pokemon on your team just to block this thing since EVERYONE was using it
  • So OP, Smogon banned it to Ubers
"Re-balancing" my left testicle.

That thing was the instant where I lost what little hope that I had left for the franchise
Never saw that one before.

[looks it up]

A Gen 8: that's why. Also gone in Gen 9 lol. The series sure is a mess now.
But the design is absolutely hilarious, though

If there were somehow a Nuclear Dragon version of that 'mon and matchups of the Nuclear type worked just like they work in Uranium, then at least that 'mon would have a double weakness to all the weaknesses of the Dragon type which could really balance stuff out?

But the design is absolutely hilarious, though
At least the designs of new 'mons is still creative. I think I like the dolphin design from Gen 9.

Evolving that little shit in other games is going to be obnoxious.
I can already see Niantic requiring you to be partied and doing like 10 god damn party missions to evolve it. Hopefully they release it closer to/during winter, the heat this year has been fucking insane.

A guy can scan unopened packs of cards. I wonder if this will impact sealed card packs lol.
Oh this will impact the market for sure, just not immediately. It takes expensive hardware and some level of technical expertise to accomplish, so its going to take the scummier side of the market a bit of time to catch up.
