This is kind of a "teachable moment" for kids who watch Mr. Beast.
Good advice in this quote link. I think the litmus test is idolatry; if there is any idolisation, be it of a force like money, a symbol like a brand, a figure like a celebrity, president, spouse, saint, priest, deity; these are all corruptible vulnerabilities that will be exploited. Good role models communicate without idolisation and debasement. It's rare, but they exist, at least for a time.
I’ve always believed Mr. Beast’s charity was a fucking scam that conveniently gave him a shield against all online criticism.
Boogie just donated 3K to Saint Jude’s… does that just forgive him of lying his ass off? Plenty of billionaires who have pulled cons have charity foundations, does that make them innocent?
You aren't wrong. A lot of charities and organzitions, those specifically run by public officials and other celebs, have ulterior motives
I think such is a typical trait of the human species, that is overcome by civics. It's commandeered by an innate belief or rather hope that offsetting evil with good, undoes the evil one does and they can be "pure". Nope, if you are still doing harm, you are still harmful, and you are still impure as a human (irrespective of soul). We are all doing harm and will harm to various degrees; the question is whether our mitigations are adaptive or maladaptive.
If one has done harm, they still did harm; no amount of giving undoes that. It's about growing as a person without such harm in the future, and earning a renewed respect over time to by proving it through redemption.
Which is to say, just don't do evil in the first place, nor equivocate harm away with the fallacious excuse "nobody is perfect" that's true but it does not deny/negate improving yourself and your surroundings to avoid further harm in the first place.
There's no defence to be worse when you can be better, irrespective of the bickering of good/worse aside.
It's like Tyson saying he needs to focus on his own "mental health"; bitch, don't equivocate "mental health" with "not being a dipshit"
